auto stop/start acting up and radio randomly rebooting

ok so truck is acting weird. 2019 xlt with the electronics package (big sync screen and a bunch of the bells and whistles the lariat has)

about a month or so ago this problem has started and nothing so far has been consistent.

so the issues.

#1 the driver side auto window just started being auto again, for the past few months it just stopped the auto up/down and has needed the switch activated the whole time to go up and down. well now it back to doing the auto up/down

#2 the auto start/stop has bad a few hiccups. at traffic lights maybe once a week or more itll fail to restart and all of a sudden it says on the dash that all kinds of features are shut off. put in park, restart truck and its fine. no consistent symptoms

#3 the entertainment system just randomly restarts. the screen goes black, music stops, the loading screen pops up, radio turns back on and acts as if nothing ever happened.

so my take is..... friggen battery is possibly going and needs replaced, its at least 2.5yrs old. and has gone through three multi month periods in the past two years where the truck sat for three months (battery disconnected) while ive been deployed.

what do you guys think, other than the usual hate for A.S.S.

I do think your battery is probably done. But, there is another issue going on. Ford set the max battery charge level @75%, which means our batteries are way below the charge they need. I reset mine, using Forscan, to 90% and I never see the shutdown screens, etc.. anymore. And, ironically, my fuel mileage has actually gone up since I made the change, so if Ford set the charge level @75% to improve fuel mileage, well, it didn't help. I have seen this result on both my Ranger as well as my wife's 2021 Explorer Limited with the same power train. As far as the auto stop, I bought a plug-in device to keep it turned off. The plugin device acts as a memory device, so it remembers my last setting for auto stop. If I want to activate it, which I don't, I can.

It sounds like it has the dreaded 2019 battery issue finally showing itself. A proper test of the battery will let you know. I sure hope that’s all it is.

Those window switch and infotainment screen issues don’t necessarily fit that scenario but with these modern trucks, you never know.

I hope it’s nothing more than your battery.

Sounds like what happens when they have to reprogram the transmission. Battery could be the problem have it tested then check into reprogramming.

Your window auto-up/down gets reset when battery is disconnected. There is a procedure in the manual to get it on auto again.

The trigger for the ASS is 11.3 and SYNC is 11.5 volts if it drops below this voltage, when BMS sees above these voltages they enable. This is the reboot you see

Your issues sound very similar to the ones I have with my 2019 XLT when the battery starts to get low. My XLT is like yours where it has plenty of added extras above a standard XLT.

I don’t drive mine much, 13000 miles in 3 1/2 years so I bought a CTEK MXS 5.0 AGM battery charger/ tender and when the ASS stops working or the radio starts rebooting or shutting off I know it’s time to hook up the charger.

I don’t use the ASS and also have a plug in device to override it but ASS is a great indicator of battery level. Most likely I’ll replace the battery before the hard winter sets in since I’d hate to get stranded. So my advice is to charge the battery and see if your problems resolve themselves.

Anytime you under supply a logic board that is running solid state relays, you're going to get extremely weird stuff happening. Dots will connect that shouldn't, and vice versa. And if the logic board is programmed to see 11.75VDC but it's floating around 11.6-11.8, the board gets mad. Worse, if the BCM is regulating what the alternator puts out and it's not telling the Alt to charge hard enough to compensate for an aged battery, the BCM is essentially telling the Alt to lay down forcing you back to the dealer. The BCM was born of homing pigeons.

Yes, roll the window down and hold the switch for 3 seconds once it gets to the bottom and then roll it up and hold for 3 seconds once it gets to the top. That should reset the auto feature.

To the OP, sounds like a battery on the edge.
