2001 ? I think you might be off a decade or so bud. We were using flip phones in 2001 if you were luck. Some of us still rocked a big brick phone you couldn’t put in your pocket and some still didn’t have a cellphone at that point.
Point taken, however mine still stands.
Facetime, GPS, doesn’t rattle around, now I also have a Gopro/tablet mount. Sound like your stuck in 2016 yo
Just don't see any reason for that crap.

Pretty much the exact same kind of setup im going for! Looks awesome ??
Gross. Looks like Best Buy puked all over a nice truck.

I like the idea of being a low profile mount in the dash tray(not the biggest fan of being drilled in), but does anyone have this phone mount or one similar? Here’s a link to one for an F150 and the dash tray looks similar to ours. Looks well built.

I use this type of mount in my truck, boat and our sports cars. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HCRHXQP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_J3Q9J3XKF6VW653HFWA4
Peel and stick, no drilling and strong enough to hold a tablet. Plus very unobtrusive.

I’ve used the Nite Ize Steelie for several years on our vehicles and boat. Thin metal plate sticks on back of phone. Magnet stays on the Steelie. Very easy to remove the components from phone or car with fishing line if need to move them to new phone or car. They also make a Steele on a little vent mount that I use on rental cars when we travel. https://www.niteize.com/product/Steelie-Orbiter-Dash-Mount-Kit.asp

Why mount your phone?. It's not 2001 anymore. Plug it in and put in the cubby.

Seriously, why are you people needing your phone mounted?
I am going to purchase this because a mounted phone keeps the cord away from wrapping around and moving the 4wd selector to 4high sometimes with how loose the selector knob is. I have done it a few more times than I would have liked on the road accidentally with a long cord.

That's weird. I use a longer cable that routes around the selector knob too. Never once has the cable moved the knob. Seems people have issues moving the knob with their leg sometimes too. I've never had this issue either.

Some tall people if they do it with their legs! Haha.

My weekend phone. I’m not kidding ?2021 KYOCERA Flip phone. No social media, and a very crude web browser. I will not be distracted by this thing. And forward my main number to this one so I don’t miss any calls.

Pretty cool although I would think that one could simply screw-in (or stick on) a ball mount or 2 directly into the tray. The tray just pops right out.

I added a wireless charger under mine:
