I don't know about ya'll but I will never buy anything with terms like that.....why folks are so frothing at the mouth over these Bronco's...
There ok, but come on man!!
I've had a chance to check out a co-workers new 2022 Badlands Bronco ($55K+) pretty thoroughly.....actually not that impressed..
I can't argue with that Mark. I've test drove a Big Bend, and honestly the only thing that's better than my Jeep JL is the steering. But of course a IFS will drive better than a solid front axle vehicle. Honestly It really wasn't that much better as Jeep redesigned something out front, and they drive much better than the TJ's and even the JK's. Really the only reason I ordered one is Imma gettin' old. I don't need one, I just want one. Time is drawin' nigh, and I don't want to miss out on anything if possible. :)

But there's one thing for sure. I ain't payin' no damn ADM, or even MSRP. I have a below invoice price for a great dealer. But, it's gonna take a while to get the dang thing.

The more I drive my new Jeep the less excited I am about my Bronco order. :( That is until I have an electrical meltdown or any number of other problems they complain about on the JL forum.?:giggle:

Jim...I really like your rational.....Imma getting old too so if I like something then so be it!....
The wife really liked the Bronco but I'm positioning for a '23 Ranger for her and a late model ('18-'20) Audi TT for me....lol. (She told me if I paid off the credit cards the TT was mine....lol).

I'm been looking at the '23 Ranger myself. I'm toying with the idea to let Ford decide. If I don't hear any good news about this Bronco fiasco by the time the order banks open for the new Ranger I may just order a Lariat Crew Cab 4wd. Of course this is only one of the crazy ideas my dumb old big head has come up with over these last many months.

As the old saying goes, "I've never seen an armored car following a hearse". I want my family to write my last check to the funeral home, and it bounce like a rubber ball. :)

I think it would be awesome if Model e followed the Telsa direct sales model. Scamming dealers would be so pissed. I feel the dealers are the weak link in the electric buyer's expectation of easy buying. This could Ford's way to deal with that and not break any of the Ford/Ford Blue dealer agreements.
That system worked so well for the Edsel.

Being a Bronco reservation holder I could go on, and on about how bad Ford has screwed up the Bronco launch. And, it didn't have to be that way.
It's not just the Bronco launch . The lightning launch has its own ADM horror stories .
Seems Ford doesn't want to sell me anything anyway. I still have no clue as to when I can expect my July 2020 reserved Bronco and I reserved a lightning and had the confirmation email back from Ford within 2 minutes of the reveal going live. I get this today :(

Benny, I received a similar email back on 1/15/21 and still crickets. Yeah I'm one step closer to cancelling my order! ?

YOUR ADVENTURE IS COMING
Dave, congratulations! Your Bronco™ SUV reservation means you’re one step closer to exploring the great outdoors like never before. And here’s more good news: it’s almost time to order your Bronco. That means your dealer will be reaching out to you soon. Until then, here are a few things to keep in mind while you await your future treks to the wilderness:

That system worked so well for the Edsel.
Times have changed. It is way easier for a manufacture to directly interact with potential customers now than was even 30 years ago, never mind 60 years ago. I'm not familiar enough with Edsel to compare how Ford tried to sell that brand compared to how Telsa is selling now though. But if your remark is some proof that direct to customer sales will fail, see TSLA.

Point is that at the time Ford insisted on exclusive dealers for the Edsel (although the Edsel had a host of other problems). You couldn't sell them in a Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer, you had to open a new place.
I like Ford's other idea of dealers having less inventory and focusing more on ordering vehicles and getting them to the dealers quickly, although that system needs fixed.
Back in 2000 my dad ordered a new BMW, btw the worst POS he ever owned, the order went to Germany, car got built, put on a boat, trucked from the east coast to Pittsburgh, and he picked it up five weeks to the day after he ordered it. As a former car salesman I was pretty damned impressed.

Ummm, invitations to order future model years. That doesn't sound good. I stopped by the Maverick forum the other day, and those folks are getting the same song, and dance. It's beginning to look like Ford bit off more than they can chew. Like Dave @AzScorpion said, I'm very close to canceling my Bronco order also. The thrill is gone, and I really don't care anymore.

I like the idea of small footprint dealers with just demo cars, not really for sale to public until the next year's demo model arrives. Lots of other countries already do it this why, the dealer is more like a gallery of what you can order.

Well in the US we track statistics on daily commutes (link below) the majority are shorter distances - as in less than 25 miles and many are commutes to jobs in urban area - where a car is parked for the duration of the day, progressive urban areas and employers are providing free charging stations, so for many owners recharge time is not a huge issue . EV not for everyone but most EV and hybrid owners are happy with the overall savings - which will be even more significant with rising fossil fuel energy costs .

https://www.bts.gov/browse-statisti...ed/trips-distance-groupings-national-or-state

For we retired folks, that live out away from "society" (for a reason) with a 60 mile commute (one way) for groceries and depend on (gulp) a coop power company (hence a 22 Kw standby gen), this e car stuff doesn't work...

Yeah, seriously!
Hi James,

At the fuel station in the Ford Engineering Complex, we had multi fuel capability including Liquid Hydrogen. Three times the volume of liquid hydrogen escaped during fueling....

Best,
Phil

Yeah, I should have known there were some serious drawbacks. Good to know everything is on the table. I seriously doubt electric is the complete answer.
