How come your friends aren't allowed in the house to watch TV? (I say that in jest, of course, but have noticed many garages out here with tv's and such in them). Why is that?

I can think of ten reasons why:

• Your buddies don't have to knock or ring the bell, just walk in, put their coolers in the corner with the others.
• You don't have to take your boots off
• The reception is better because the antenna/coax/wifi repeater is closer
• You can have the volume up
• The ceiling mount heater adds to the ambiance, especially when the pink ribbons flutter when it operates.
• There's more room for the pizza oven on the workbench than on the kitchen counter.
• The fridge has more room for beer, venison jerky and smoked salmon without all the leftovers that are in the "real" fridge
• If you spill something, so what? it'll soak in
• The garage smells like grease, sawdust, solvents, decaying garbage; the house smells like $20 scented candles
• Your buddies can examine the stuff they may want to borrow or buy someday.

We like it because it's a big open area an you don't have to be neat since clean up involves a hose. I upgraded the TV Friday to a 70".
