I am good. No airbags, shocking kinda, windows were down and didn't even break the glass, they rolled up just fine. I was lucky and only had a sore neck and hip for one day after the accident. I was hit at 55mph.

0 intrusion, truck shut off but I was able to restart it immediately after checking for fluid leaks and drive it to the shoulder with that crooked ass wheel an all. Crash bars removed on this truck as well.
Good to hear. Glad you're alright.

You should be celebrating that insurance totaled the truck. Seriously go out and celebrate tonight.

I am at day 65 and growing that my 2021 FX4 lariat is at the dealer waiting on one driver side rear axle after 4 months of new purchase ownership. My truck is officially at half its life sitting at the dealer parking lot vs actual drive time.

Not mad, it’s just the facts. Be happy you don’t have to deal with repair timelines that got missed. It really is the best outcome for you. Wrecked vehicles rarely drive as good as new.
Yes. Your post was one of those I just read before posting my story and I am very thankful they are giving me the option. Sorry to hear about the delay! What made you notice your issue? Noise or a leak?

Highway ride felt a lot of vibration like a wheel out of balance. Have you ever gone muddying and had mud caked up inside the wheel? Felt like that. Took tires off for balance and saw diff fluid leaked onto the inside wheel. Not enough to leak on ground where I park but enough to drip onto wheel.

Polū (Hawaiian for Blue) is going to be no more.

Got in a car accident September 6th, back and fourth back and fourth with insurance and the dealerships bodyshop and now I was told I have the option to total it or fix it with used parts.

Originally it wasn't expected to be that bad. Almost a month of back and fourth before the option came up.

The suspension was hit so hard but the frame was straight as an arrow. Laser measured and determined no frame damage. .....but, because they need to put a new shock mount on the vehicle because it was hit so hard and Ford said that you can't weld onto the frame for safety purposes.

So I can either replace the entire frame with a used frame, new doors, new fender, etc, or if they put a new front half of the frame it'd be considered totalled.

I already waited a month for this decision, and an estimate to fix the truck and replace the frame is 2 to 3 months.

Sadly I am not able to wait that long nor do I want to.

I am currently looking at other new Rangers but stock is slim where I am and will continue to search for another one.

They offered me a great offer that I couldn't pass up on my Ranger so it's a no brainer.

Crying shame, man! Hope that you can find another one that will give you the same feeling, if not the exact same look!

Sorry to see this Corey. I'm just happy no one was seriously hurt. Vehicles can be replaced, people not so much. Good luck on your search for the next Ranger.

Sorry about your truck, the damage is minimal, but in all the wrong places that make it expensive
I too would prefer a

a 3 degree offset hit? why would the crash bars even be needed ?
the airbags didnt even deploy as there wasnt enough inertia transfer.
no need to celebrate a crash bar win on this one.
RP any day I get to wake up and drive my Ranger and use my nonexistent crash bars, is a win my friend.

Jump on a plane, you may have to fly to get a blue one. How do you feel about velocity blue? This one is near Orlando Fl. XLT 4wd.

that looks like a 301a. I'd like to stay 302a or move to a lariat. But pretty much the same truck otherwise. Also fx4 is required or Tremor.

@TomC I love Florida anyways I'd come down if I found the right truck. One way ticket and drive it back.

Sad to see it go Corey. :crying: Hopefully a new door will open for you soon and you'll be building/modding your new Ranger soon enough.

So sorry. That's what scares me these days. I used to have the attitude that if one of my vehicles were to get hit that badly, I'd just take the money and buy a new one. But that's not necessarily an option these days as suitable replacements are no longer plentiful, or available at all. Also, we're all likely to be suffering soon with higher insurance rates as the industry is now having to total vehicles due to the lack of OEM replacement parts that in a previous age would have been quickly and easily repaired.
