I bought a new 2019 Lariat in 2020 for 0.0% interest for (I think 7 years, could be 6). I have 40K miles. Here in MN, we're finally starting to warm up, & my A/C won't blow cold air. Is this common? Any suggestions? Thanks!

i have not heard of ac failures on the 5g yet. it may be an issue with the controls. have you tried switching the settings for climate on the touch screen and the push buttons? maybe out of freeon with a leak some place? hopefully an easy fix.

that stinks. if my ac goes out id be rather cross... too hot down here for that mess. maybe its something simple like out of refrigerant. likely a small slow leak. if you have it charged and it blows cold for little while then back to warm its a safe bet its leaking.

If you haven't used it for awhile sometimes it take a few minutes to start blowing cold. My 19 Lariat does that after winter....and I have the blend door HVAC box replaced last spring.

My 2 cents. Try to run A/C once a month or so whether you need it or not.

To the OP, good luck with it. Hope it ends up being a simple issue.

In the first 6 months of buying my 2021 I lost the AC do to refrigerant leak in the engine bay right by the firewall. If you check and all the electrical parts (fuses and such) check out, get a black light and look around along the AC lines under the hood, the factory refrigerant fill has UV dye in it and any leaks should glow unless they have been washed away already.

Edit: this is a picture of where I found the leak on mine.

**UPDATE** Everything is out on my A/C. Thank Goodness I purchased an extended warranty. Ford is claiming that mine is the first Ranger for this to happen. There aren't aftermarket parts yet available. I'm lucky enough to have no deductible...

My local Ford Dealer where I purchased it, the service department won't answer the phone. When I called the front desk & said that no one in service will answer, then someone picked up the phone. The guys said that they're at least 3 weeks out to even get me in to look at it, & a $240 diagnostic fee. Tires Plus was immediate, & they charged me $20 today so that's where I'm going to have it repaired. The extended warranty company is giving them the run around a little because there's no aftermarket parts available yet, but they think it will be done probably by Wednesday (when they can get the parts). Fingers crossed! Also learned that our new Rangers have the new refrigerant so there was only 1 tires plus in the Minneapolis area that could even check my Ranger out.

OP, did shop explain or show you how your compressor failed? 47k is extremely low mileage for compressor failure.
