I rinse mine off every time when we have a dust storm here. You wouldn't believe the amount of dirt that comes out of it after one of those storms. I've seen those spray foam cleaners at Lowe's and once my free cleaning are done I'll start using them. I bought a new AC last fall and they gave me 3 years of free maintenance and cleanings.
I was really shocked at the amount of cooling differential I got after doing it. Up here we were into 100F degree days. Home system was having difficulty keeping the whole house cool. One night when it cooled off enough I did this cleaning. Next day temps were back up again but now the system was cycling instead of just staying on constantly. Hopefully that’s the issue here too

I use to do A/C work. Principal is the same components my be different. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe our Rangers use R1234yf refrigerant. They can not be mixed.
Edit: My 19 blows ice cold.
I believe you are correct I am not sure what the ramifications would be from mixing or doing the wrong one but I would rather not find out

Dirty coil is the # 1 killer of the A/C unit.

may be a leak somewhere when in doubt clean it all and top the stuff off with the dye
I didn't think 1 qt low coolant would affect the AC , not like that anyway... id pull the plugs for sure , dye and test also , missing coolant tops warm AC...

Ramifications would be a disaster. Totally different operating pressures, oil is even different.

My indoor evaporator coil is easy to get to, stays clean as a result. Outside condenser coil requires the housing to be removed for a proper cleaning.

My HVAC contractor only charges $40 for the cleaning and inspection - refrigerant and repairs extra (I bought the unit from him). Now 11 years old, replaced an 11 yo condenser/compressor unit that had been vandalized.

One pound of R-22 was added for the first time this year - now $200 per pound. :(

My indoor one is a pain to get to because it's up in the attic, no basements or crawl spaces here. But they do climb up there and inspect and clean the A-coil every time. I do change my filters every 30 days throughout the summer and every 3 months after that. We use the furnace so little and with no pets even then they're still clean.

$200/lb? Wow that has gone up. I remember needed some with my last unit and it was $75/lb.

The only thing I could think of is the engine is running hotter and thus using more resources to cool it vs operate the ac system may be off on that but yeah a coolant leak should definitely be a huge cause for concern, that sugar juice is very important
