The golden perch looks a lot like our crappies. A lot of fun in our lakes.
Yes they taste pretty good too, my favorite way is to clean and scale the fish and stuff the cavity with a sliced up lemon with a sprinkle of black pepper, then cover the outside in butter + more black pepper and then wrap in foil and bake on the BBQ turning a couple of times. The flesh then just falls off the bones.

The crayfish you can either boil in some salty water and eat them like prawns, or alternatively grill them over the BBQ with some garlic butter. Then either way peel and enjoy! They taste superb, just like lobster. There is also no bag limit on them either because they technically are only native to North Queensland, and are regarded as feral in southern Queensland.

2.3. The 2.7 was only offered in 4x4. And with all the towing, the cargo rating is 1700. 4x4 would have taken away 300, 400 pounds easy.

2024 xlt, 4x2, advance tow package, elocker

I'm quoting Grandpa on this one. It does everything that you need it to do.

Ready to go tomorrow. Abotut 2 hours drive to our campsite, up a mountain range and then camping in the elevated land beyond. Will post more photos then.
Ranger packed justt need to add the 12 volt fridge tomorrow. Not showing the back seat of the ranger - too much alcohol packed - we are Australian after all! I see a lot of gas used in the next week to cool to cool this lot down.
Ranger ready to go - note I DID clean the concrete (see post in what did you do to your Ranger today) but the Ranger got dirty again because it continued to shower which admittedly is normal for mid Autumn

In case you are wondering the hose is a spare intercooler top hose for the 3.2 litre diesel, popular as a tow rig here in Aus. The 3.2's are notorious for blowing this hose and even Ford advise keeping a spare handy.

Have been camped up since midday Sunday now, very relaxing. I have been perfecting the art of roasting and grilling in a Biolite firepit using charcoal briquettes. Marinated flat boned chicken- perfect, two racks of BBQ ribs - OK but probably needed a little more heat for perfect fall off the bone goodness. Roast marinated lamb- perfect. Will try grilling lamb chops tonight. So far fish and redclaw are not cooperating, but no one else seems to be catching anything much either. Went for a drive into a couple of local towns yesterday and had lunch at an old pub. Should always try to support the local businesses. Bought something at a hardware store that spilled over about 3 adjoining shops, and some shed out the back, in some sort of organised chaos, think the guy was ssoo happy to see a customer. Everything in the new trailer sseems to be working well. All very comfy.
