Catch can has beads in it??

If you have a bronze filter media, looks like it's falling apart.


I used cheap catch cans all the time but I remove their provided mesh filter for this reason.


Now if you don't have a filter.. I have no idea wtf I'm seeing.

Upside, those tiny brass beads that make it out of the can will clean your intake valves. Looks like the can is doing its job of catching.

Note to self: No catch can.
Had it 4 years no issues, just noticed this during a recent emptying. Catch can are highly recommended for Ecoboosts.

This makes the most sense, I'm chalking up to this. Question is should I replace now that it's losing the media??

I don’t think that the breather is anything special and is probably used in many different applications. Might be able to get a replacement from a local hose/fitting company. Or Amazon if you can figure out what thread size it is. Search sintered bronze breather vent or pneumatic muffler.
