Biggest tires, no lift?

Oh that's right, forgot about that option. Nonetheless, the guy I replied to was trying to fit a 275 cross section 33" tire which is a big no. I was wanting to go 255 as well when I swapped out my tires, but unfortunately options become pretty limited when you try to go to a relatively skinny high aspect ratio tire. And they get expensive too.

Not an issue if you’re cool removing the crash bars.

Hello, I will be picking up my new Ranger on 10/21 and was wondering if anybody has tried a 275/70/R17 with a 2' level lift. From reading here it seems like a 265/70/R17 fits with no lift. Will be using the stock 17" painted wheels. Thanks in advance.

I have Fox stage 1 fronts and rears installed with it levelled and 265/65/R18 (same outter diameter as 265/70/R17) that easily fit with no rubbing.

What about a 255/75/17? Tall-skinny tire

32" and a little narrower than you have now.

Plus will not drain on a milage as much

Too early to say accurately, just installed them on Thursday. I will update you after i have a fair comparison. The tread of these tires is only 7.5 inches wide, compared to 8.5 for a bfg or 8 inches on the new bridgestone destination XT. Also this particular duratrac is eurometric standard load, rather than being an LT metric tire. Eurometric duratracs come with a 50k mileage warranty.

the lighter fits loosely at the rear, and tightly in the front. Lighter dimensions are 5/8ths thick and one inch wide.

I have been successful with a 265 75 16

On the oem 16" wheels without modifications.

I can only recommend the Goodyear Wrangler Trail Runner AT. With that much of an increase in sidewall height it is important to get a tire that works well with the application. That is also a light tire by comparison to other tires available in this size. Ride comfort is very good.

Everyone should keep in mind that tire change calibration options are limited and most folks who put on bigger tires won't be able to give an accurate MPG change until they correct this.

My upgrade from stock to 265/70/17 is unnoticeable on the speedometer and took it off my “To do list”.

2mph is 2mph. I know it's not much but it bugs me because over time the distance difference adds up. Ok fine, it's only 3,700 miles over 100k... WHATEVER, it's still off! I plan on going to 265/70/17 also but for me it's a 5.2% difference so that really bugs me. Maybe I'll just incorporate that information into my calculations like a sane person would do.

The issue, to my mind, isn't how much it affects your day-to-day decision making with regard to speed or MPG or whatever, but the fact that your odometer over 5 years or whatever is going to be wrong by thousands of miles when you go to sell the vehicle. Most Americans drive ~13,000 miles/year, even a 3.6% tire size increase (i.e. from 265/65R17 to 265/70R17) will be an miss of ~500 miles/year on your odometer.
