Everyone should keep in mind that tire change calibration options are limited and most folks who put on bigger tires won't be able to give an accurate MPG change until they correct this.
I have a unit on the way if it works perhaps I can loan it out to other 5Ger's for a small fee to re-coup my cost.

I think it's technically fraud to sell a vehicle knowing that its odometer understates its actual mileage.
I don't think changing your tire size is considered fraud in the sense of it being a crime. To be a crime, there has to be intent to deceive, if I read the below info correctly - just my interpretation of it.

From the NHTSA site:
"Odometer fraud is the disconnection, resetting, or alteration of a vehicle’s odometer with the intent to change the number of miles indicated."

https://www.nhtsa.gov/equipment/odometer-fraud

Now, if you do it and then lie about the mileage (as in, putting stock tires back on)...that may be different.

This is absolutely correct. Especially since the distance shown would really only be off by a tiny margin. That's obviously not intended to be deceitful.

Going from a 30.6" tire to a 33.8" (e.g. 265/65R17 to 28575R17) is a 10.5% change. Over a few years that accrues to be quite a meaningful difference in one's odometer.

It is not difficult to document mileage at: tire purchase mounting and balance, and mileage at re calibration adjusting to new size, obviously the importance of that documentation increases with the larger diameter increases.

There is a YouTube video with tires 285/70/17. Here is the link. Thinking bout doing this size with mine. I have 3 inch front leveling kit on now.
