Just got an oil change at the local Ford Dealer in Wisconsin Rapids, WI and it was $130 plus change. First one I got in So Cal in 2022 was $89 then one there in 2023 was $99. Have enough points for one more free one, then it is time to do them myself. The price of $130 is just getting out of control. When I was still working my wages never increased at such a fast pace.

Wow, seems excessive.
Yes it does I though So Cal prices were bad, expected midwest area to be cheaper. Maybe lack of competition were as in So Cal there is a lot more dealers. Here this is the only dealer nearby next closes one has a bad rap and the next one is over 50 miles away.

The works runs $80 around here.

My daughter is getting a Navigator, she's tired of the MB $800 oil change/service so maybe a buck thirty isn't bad lol
I think $80 is a reasonable price would not mind paying that for the works package.

you'll need a little trim remover tool they often include 100s of new plastic tabs too for around $10
and Get one of These: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GX1VMRP?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
drain plug is 15mm
i had the worst time getting filters out until i got this thanks to another forum member telling me about it. once you find the little channel that directs the filer oil to fall in a certain spot you will find this a very easy change they really did a good job once you figure out the access... was near impossible to get filter out without that tool though, what a nightmare...
EDIT: after seeing filter spillage in another thread i want to add: FILTER SPILL: i let my oil drain for a long time, 20 minutes maybe before removing the filter. I am not having any spillage when i take the filter out, very little left in it and what is there spills into channel for collection. might help you or maybe unrelated i dont know.

Thanks for the info.
I had a bunch of points need to use up is why I was using the dealer for service. When those are gone will do it myself I always worry the dealer misses something or does not do what I ask as far as rotating the tires. I do not have a discount tire near me, really miss them for rotating and balancing the tires.

Mine in Bend, Oregon at Kendall Ford are about $120. Kinda of annoying because 1) I never get a tire rotation because I run winter wheels and just rotate them and 2) it isn't even fully synthetic oil.

I'm close to doing them myself. I do my Subarus myself.

Discount tire does rotations for free if you buy tires from them... I talked to my local one though and they did it for me for no cost (I hadn't bought tires there yet).

That being said, I just ordered the drain plug thing that @AndyMedic mentioned and it should make oil changes much easier going forward....

I was paying $130 for dealer oil change service but that included a vehicle inspection (brakes, suspension, tires, undercarriage, etc.)

Perhaps they bill $130 because that’s what Ford will reimburse them for the “free” oil changes. I would ask what they would charge if you are paying. My local dealer charges $80 for the Works with synthetic blend and $100 with full synthetic.

They charge the same either paying cash or points. Total charge was $131.75 and I redeemed 26,350 points to cover it. That is their normal rate for the works oil change with synthetic blend including tire rotation and vehicle inspection. Also a car wash if you want it.
