See attached photos.

Mine fell out at some point - my local dealer had to submit a request to Ford to obtain this part number, as it is *not* listed in the parts breakdown.

Just in case this happens to you, now you have the part number.

Cheers!

That's actually a lock that Ford sells which fits the same opening. It is *not* the cover I posted earlier. I went down this road with the parts guy.

Hmm, its looks like a redesign has been done - square vs round, I wonder if they addressed the issue of them getting dirt & corrosion inside and locking up.

It appears that P/N: LB3Z-17K922-A, fits the 2024 Ranger, but by visual looks - it works

I pull and lube mine at every oil change, to keep it moving free all thanks to others posting about getting the key stuck in it.
They will seize up on you, if you do not do preventive maintenance lubes on this

The one I posted is simply a plastic cover - you insert it and turn it to lock the tabs. It has no metal, no mechanism.

Did they do away with the locking one on the 23’s? Or does the OP have a 24?

My truck has a build date of 6/23 - it never came with a lock, just a plastic cover.

Ok, I understand now, this (your plug) just rotates and requires (No-Key)
Well, that is is better design, as I do not see many thieves steeling spare tires, even with the locking type it would not take much to force it off.

?‍♂ looks like one of the last 5G discontinued items. Pretty sure 19-22 all had locking ones

Yup another bean counter discontinued item for 2023. My '23 was built on 3/23 and has the plug also. If I'd had know that I would've pilfered the one off my '19 along with everything else I took. ?

I think I actually would prefer the non-locking cover over the Locking one, no fuss over being on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere to change a tire and have to possibly fight to get the spare dropped down.
Especially for those with keyed ignition, imagine getting your only key, stuck in the lock and no way to drive the truck without it.
Trust me on this, I have the Lariat, so push button start and before I started my preventive lubes on the lock, I was able to get my key stuck in the lock, had to fiddle with it to get it to rotate to correct position to get it out of the lock assembly.
So, I can only imagine someone with a keyed ignition in the same situation on the side of the road on a busy highway or in the middle of nowhere.
I believe this would induce various amounts of curse words.

Do you care to share which curse words are to be used in this situation?
