I do remember the duct tape seat covers in trucks and on fishing boat cushions, as I am one of the old timers now. I was hoping there was a different fix than just duct tape now.
As for the "pleather", I have no doubt some engineer at Ford and every auto maker for that matter thought this was a...
How many miles on the rest of the truck? If relatively new, a new engine may be worth it, but if it has closer to 30K miles on everything else, well why bother.
I have seen this happen on many other, older cars. Last weekend I was cleaning my truck with black leather interior. I was thinking as I cleaned the leather and using some leather conditioner from Chemical Guys, "My seats have held up really well. None of the flaking or cracking of the leather...
Wow, and I thought my mileage was down because my commute is only 5 miles to work and back. The first two years I had it, I was only driving 1 mile a day because I lived so close to the office. But my 2019 has 117K on it and is going strong.
I replaced my OEM brakes at 95K miles. One had about 10% left, two had 50% +, and one had about 75% left. I was surprised. I went ahead and replaced them all, but all of them did not need to be replaced yet.
My 19' Lariat has gotten between 20-21 mpg very consistently. The only difference is when I ran 93 octane. Once I went to 87 due, to the price, my mpg dropped on average 2-3 per gallon. But, I also find I get the best mpg, according to the computer and real-time mpg gage at 84 mph. Seems...
Thanks for doing a test run on this for us. I bet it is much cheaper than a OEM replacement from Ford. Now that I am over the 100k mileage point and all the warranty is gone, using OEM is not as necessary. Can you put a link to the Ebay or maybe even Amazon listing? I want to do some price...
I finally got the broken wires patched and taped up the one with a bare spot and have a piece of HP fuel line to replace the broken original equipment to hold the wiring harness. As others have said, I also had a blown F12 fuse, so I replaced it.
Now the odd things, as soon as I put the new fuse...
That is option #2 depending on how much it costs, if I can even replace it all. The wires are so small it was hoping to simply unplug it and replace it, but we will see.
Benny, Need your help and expertise. I don't know what to call these parts or their numbers.
I need the wiring harness connected to the Fan Clutch on a 2019 Ranger Lariat 4x4. If the little tube that holds the wiring harness off the fan clutch can be bought without the clutch itself, I could...
I just found the same thing on my 2019 Lariat. Began having check engine lights on and off with a random misfire code. Yesterday the Low Oil Pressure light and an additional Turbo/Supercharge circuit failure code.
Mine has 2-3 wires rubbed bare and 2 are completely broken. The tube holding the...
Wow...Thanks for all the great info. You sound just like my son. He is a mechanic in the AF.
I appreciate the through answer. I have one question, and I am not being a jerk here, but to hook up to a diagnostic machine and get these answers, wouldn't it cost more than replacing the coil packs...
I am hoping...kinda leaning this way. Although mine does just the opposite. It seems to run rougher when cold and then smooth out when it gets warm.
I think when I get back from vacation next week, I will try replacing the coil packs and see what happens.
Rockauto.com seems to have the best...
Well, the saga continues.... on Thursday the CE light just went away. I turned the truck off for about 90 minutes. When I pushed the start button, the light was not on. It had been on for 5 days but now it's gone. So, what the heck does that mean? It is not misfiring anymore? Did a bad spark...
So, basically take to someone who has a diagnostic machine? I sure don't have a Live Data machine, but I agree. It may be something much deeper than just a bad plug or a faulty coil pack.
I haven't noticed any coolant leaking out, but I will check it again.
I did change the oil at the same...
