    My truck has a build date of 6/23 - it never came with a lock, just a plastic cover.

    The one I posted is simply a plastic cover - you insert it and turn it to lock the tabs. It has no metal, no mechanism.

    That's actually a lock that Ford sells which fits the same opening. It is *not* the cover I posted earlier. I went down this road with the parts guy.

    See attached photos. Mine fell out at some point - my local dealer had to submit a request to Ford to obtain this part number, as it is *not* listed in the parts breakdown. Just in case this happens to you, now you have the part number. Cheers!

    Muffler shops typically weld on their own hangers in the appropriate positions - that's what was done in my situation.

    If you cut the OEM muffler inlet/outlet close to the case, you may have enough length on each piece to insert them into the new muffler and clamp them. However, you may need a pipe expanding tool to make the stubs fit snugly/properly into the new muffler. My suggestion: just have it welded...

    Absolutely wonderful - all the added flow benefits without the noise. The interior noise level is imperceptible from stock, cruising and under load. The outside maintains a subdued, but throatier low rumble. I'm extremely happy with my muffler choice!
