it would be really close. the height is not really the issue. the side wall of the tire with 265 70 17 is pretty close to the spindle. the 275 would be a bit wider. at full turn and compressed the crash bars may be rubbed a bit.Does a 1" level give you enough room for 275/70/17s with no spacers and not removing crash bars.
so... not to beat the dead horse too much more but -
i want to run 285 70 17 or 255 80 17 on stock sport 17 inch rims. im lifted 2.5 all the way around and have the new crash bars for more clearance to install already. Any body run the stock 17 sport rims and 285 70 17 or 255 80 17 without issues? i really never liked the idea of spacers but have read in the threads a spacer may be needed with stock wheels. I cant afford new wheels with different offset. im dont want to cut or trim anything. the truck will be off road and will see full compression and flex.![]()
thank you! Im not too worried about the height being an issue but i am worried about the wider tire on the stock rim. the 265 is pretty close already. I am trying to find a combo of light vs tough.I ran a 285/70r17 and 255/80r17 on stock wheels, no spacers for a bit. The 285s kissed the crash bar on full right turn, in reverse only. With aftermarket crash bars, you should be just fine. If you have a Discount Tire near you, they can always test fit the tire to make sure they will fit. They can even jack up the tire to compress it in the fender and check for 'flexed' clearance.

the ko2 is one of the toughest tires ive ever had but in a 33 inch tire they are about 60 pounds. thats a lot of weight on our little ranger
A very capable, good looking rig! Love the color.I'll add my truck to this list after finally upgrade wheels and tires. I decided to go the pizza cutter route after watching tinkerers adventure video. I went from a 285/65r18 Falken Wildpeak from a Tundra TRD Pro oem tires on stock ranger wheels with 2" wheel spacers and no rub to Black Rhino Shogun 17x8.5 -10mm offset and 255/80r17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W. No rub w/ Front crash bars are removed and 2.5 RC lift blocks on front for now. These are just barely poking out with my fender flares.

As much as you can buy bruh!so i put on 285 70 17 Cooper Evo m/t. they are on the big side of the market for the size. 32.96 they fit the sport rims fine. however they do rub and full turn in either direction. truck has 2.5 lift all around. side wall is very close to spindle. like 3/8 inch... so spacers or wheels needed. my question for the world is what off set do i need? my ranger will be flexed and off road often and using full turn etc.. so what off set do i need?
id never drive it with that much lol. id be ashamed. I dont want "poke" or whatever the cool kids call it. I just want the tires to fit in correct manor where i can still romp off road and not rub or damage anything. ive heard zero offset, 18, 20. IdkAs much as you can buy bruh!

Maybe someone reading this, who has OEM wheels and tires can tell you much sidewall-spindle clearance they have and you can work from that to figure out if you need a small spacer or a lower offset wheel.id never drive it with that much lol. id be ashamed. Oh man. I hope it does solve it. I feel like I've seen a lot of 5g trucks on 33s. Maybe someone that is doing it successfully can chime in .Maybe someone reading this, who has OEM wheels and tires can tell you much sidewall-spindle clearance they have and you can work from that to figure out if you need a small spacer or a lower offset wheel.
Here’s the comparison between your new tires and OEM tires - both on factory wheels. You’re just over a half inch closer to your suspension.

To bring it to the same clearance as factory, you need a half inch spacer or a wheel with +40mm offset. Factory is +55mm.
Now, the kicker is that going to a lower offset wheel or spacer will make you rub even more at full lock than you do now. As you push the tires out with spacers or low offset, you push the tire closer to the crash bar when the wheel is turned. Here’s a visualization of how that works…

Removing your crash bars or replacing them with aftermarket high clearance anti-intrusion beams could solve that.
Sorry to bring the bad news.

I have 1" wheel spacers on +55 wheels, @AndyMedic has +1 wheels with no spacers.so i put on 285 70 17 Cooper Evo m/t. they are on the big side of the market for the size.
