Anyone say, I should have purchased a different truck?

The way the back seat does’t fold flat defies logic. Who signed off on that? Other than that, I really like it.
I know!! If it did, mine would be always down since no one rides in the back seat and I just use the back seat to throw my groceries, lap top/case, etc. If I still had dogs, I could have thrown a cover over it and given the dog a boost up and he/she would have had a nice flat area to ride similar to the cargo area of my SUV.

Other thing I hate is the soft interior plastics that scratch so easily. Oh and the paper thin exterior paint, but I hear all new vehicles are pretty much that way these days.

All together, I really like the truck.
Ya, it has some issues, but EVERY vehicle will.
I had a 2005 F150 before I got my 2019 Lariat Ranger. I wanted to go with another F150. But I didn't need as big of a cab to haul kids around and was wanting better MPG. Found the 2019 with 7200 miles on it for a steal of a price and jumped on it.
What really got me was the test drive. Accelerated hard halfway up the onramp to get on the interstate and it pealed-out. That shocked me, as I was not really aware of the amount of HP left unwound to that point.
Had a battery issue, solved under warranty. Had some issues with computer processing. This turned out to be due to the decrepit battery.
Most recent issue was the Sync 3 system. This was because Ford was lacking in their update for the system. Got that taken care of and all was well.
I'm approaching 68,000 miles and keeping my fingers crossed that nothing really major happens.
Planning to change out the plugs in the spring. Also wanting to level it and go with slightly larger tires.
Otherwise all is good with Blue Bullet.

Never seen used Rangers on any of the lots around here.
Low resale value? Sure. That's why some have reported selling their 2 yrs. old Ranger for the same price they paid when new.
Being curious, I asked Canada Drives (a CDN auto buyer) for a price on my 22 XLT FX4 scab and was offered $41,500 cash and they'd pick it up. Thats $3,000 mor than i paid for it new in 05/22, not including tax.

I've had my 2019 Lariat for 4.5 years now. I'm not all that happy with it because of the problems I've had since it hit 3 years.

First the transmission. I put up with the bucking and surging for about 2 months, very annoying. Within 6 months of the bucking the climate control would send cold air to the driver and hot to the passenger. Ford had the vehicle for 3.5 days. 8 months later it was the Sync 3 issue of any time I started the vehicle it would revert to AM radio and it would have to be reset to Sirius XM. In the past 6 months the battery would only hold a 50% charge and the vehicle would act weird. Cost $400 for diagnostics and a new battery. Month later the Sync 3 issue is back.

The vehicle has 57k on the odometer. My extended warranty will expire at 70k and I do not think I want to see that with the track record this truck has. I'm going to look at what Chevy and Toyota offer in mid size trucks and make a decision.

I do have to admit it was a good vehicle for 3 years but the last 1.5 have me thinking it's time to move on.

Looks like "El Dung" got me again with another nail in the coffin. Yesterday I stopped over a Friend's house to help him move to a new home. After a couple hours we came back to my Ranger. Started just fine but the vehicle would not let me shift out of P and the steering wheel was locked. I tried restarting it several times but it just sat there laughing at me. Even had a friend try it with the same results. After 30 min of trying the friend tried one last time and it worked fine.

Today it's at the Ford dealer. No weird codes or anything. They can't find anything wrong. Not sure what is going to replace "El Dung" but I've certainly had enough. The next vehicle will not have all the bells and whistles like the Lariat as I'm convinced the less options the more reliable the vehicle.

With you on the less options. On a side note, I read the Tundra/Tacoma/Chevrolet/GM forums on Reddit and although Tacoma seems most reliable, there are plenty of complaints, tech issues and so on. GM seems the worst.

On the Tacoma forums, you have to take claims with a grain of salt.

I've seen problem complaints get buried and White Knighted into oblivion.

Years ago a user on TW had his rear axle lock up while driving.

He was called a troll, liar, and worse with members demanding "proof" of this problem.

He left the forum.

Not 2 weeks later Toyota issues a massive recall for the rear differential on the TRD Off Road models that could cause the rear axle to lock up while driving.

Turned out that almost every TRD Off Road on the forum had the problem.

The user who left was just the first to experience it.

That said, I will take a strong look at the new Tacoma when it comes out.

Well, I'll seriously look at it after all the "Gotta Get It Firsts" have finished driving the price over MSRP.

I've looked at the new Colorado and it's light years better than the previous generation, but not quite good enough to warrant trading my Ranger for it.

The new Frontier was a bit of a flash in the pan, lots of interest at first and now once again kinda on the rear burner.

Don't hate me but the more I think about it, the more I can see me considering a Honda Ridgeline. Now that I'm back in Phoenix and not likely to encounter severe snow/ice/offroading of any major nature, I think I might grow to enjoy the Honda.

Who says Ridgelines can't go offroad?

Dude. The Ridgeline is massively underrated. I would wager that it is capable of more 'Truck Stuff' than 75% of people who own trucks will ever use their truck for. Now it won't work for the people in here that tow huge campers or turn their vehicles into off-roading champs, but it's a more than capable vehicle.

Too bad it is butt ugly....

Seriously, I had considered it at one point but I can't get over its looks. Kind of like the Maverick.

I think the most recent 2 model years look more like a normal truck(ish) than the previous models which I did indeed find awkward and ugly.

Not I.
I merely meant I'm not likely to go rock crawling, and I can see the Ridgeline being capable of the kind of lighter off roading I might be inclined to do as opposed to the more strenuous stuff some of our members here like to do with their Rangers (even when stock set up).

I do a lot of towing, about 5000 lbs. I wish I had a F-250... but then again it wouldn't fit in my garage.
