I care nothing about EV's and especially Tesla's! Most of the ass pickles around here that have them are arrogant pricks, men and women alike! The only hybrid vehicle I've ever owned was a new 2011 Honda CR-Z, when that Obama jackass raised fuel prices to $4.25+/gallon in 2010.... We weren't making the money then, that we're making now and things got so tough on us...
Presidents have little to do with gas prices (reference:https://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/01/business/gas-prices-are-out-of-any-presidents-control.html. )

If you don’t like Obama because (pick one):
1. He’s a secret Muslim
2. He’s a Socialist
3. He’s gay

just say that instead.

I hate ‘em.

Not because they’re an EV. Because like most other EVs, they’re way too Fugly. They seemed to be on the right path with their early roadster but everything else has either been too wide, too tall, too bulbous. It’s like they’re trying to NOT win any design awards.

Whenever one is in front of me on the highway (usually driving slow in the left lane), I either stop for gas, reduce my speed until it’s out of sight, or pass it. I just don’t want to look at one for that long. :puke:

Drive one? No way I’d drive a car that looks like the Geico gecko.

Agree with your comments... but need to add one. Probably my biggest gripe with Tesla is the teslatards that worship at the church of Elon. Those folks are f'd up. So blinded with their Elon love that they avoid reality. Won't admit anything about the vehicle is less than stellar. Even when you are standing there looking at examples of piss poor build quality. They "can't" see it and will get irritated as heck because you point it out.

Lastly, Tesla doesn't pay their bills for shit. No I didn't hear that 3rd hand or read it on some forum or bathroom wall. They suck at paying their invoices. Cocky little Elon with his millions.....

Man, that’s a hard look spending money on a vehicle you cannot drive. Sure, you can charge it in the garage but man, it catches on fire in your garage, that will make the house go up quick.

Pick one only?

Too many correct answers for one only :)

I actually care nothing about politics, but it's ironic when a Democrat is in office, gas prices seem to shoot up to ridiculous prices and the economy gets messed up... I was happy with the gas prices near the middle to end of 2020, then in 2021, they went full retard...

I thought I ignored this thread?

actually, gas prices went up the most IN HISTORY, during the Bush II years.

They skyrocketed during Clinton too. Like 100% increase. They topped close to $4 (maybe it was $3 I don't remember) a gallon but were under a buck during Bush 41. I think that was when OPEC was selling oil so cheap that US companies started capping their wells. They were losing money taking it out of the ground. Once they stopped local production they jacked up prices. One side wants them high so you can't afford to buy as much an one side likes them high enough to support "big oil" making a few bucks but cheap enough you can still spend to "support the economy".

There are all kinds of factors that affect price but signing an order banning pipelines is a quick way to shoot it up. Eventually the market makes changes an it settles back down.

Yes it's a sad fact that Australia has many oil reserves, and in fact is a net producer of oil, however because of a decision made by a conservative government many years ago, that we would have to pay world oil price equivalent even for locally produced oil, every time world oil prices go up we have to pay more, even for locally produced oil and gas. Last year we had a gas shortage leading to huge increases in electricity prices, in the midst of Australia being one of the worlds biggest exporters of LNG. All because of greedy corporations and a government which was hamstrung by shortsighted decisions by it's predecessor.

One of my friends has been wanting to buy a new GM EV. They keep pushing the release date back an it looks like they are nothing but trouble. I told him he should rethink that an if he really wants an EV just get a Tesla like everyone else.
The Hummer EV is the one of the most inefficient EV's out there... Sure it has 300+ mile range, but they are using huge battery pack (212 KW) to do it. (Tesla's are 75-123 by comparison) Lightning is 98-131

I saw one of the new Hummer EV's on the way home the other night... The whole damn front end was illuminated and looked hideous! And when are people going to realize it takes way many more resources for these EV cars, than it does for fossil fuel burning cars... I'm just not a fan of EV's and I hope to never have one!

I said the same thing... and having owned many various battery power tools couldn't understand how the battery would last, I mean I couldn't keep a battery in a tool working for more than a year. Until I drove one.... The power is something you will never get in a gas powered vehicle. And as far as the battery management, I'm on my 3rd year with a 8 year warranty and have had zero issues.

A EV Ranger would be a nice option. But I'm guess Ford has learned a lesson with the Lightning (poor sales). Truck buyers don't want a EV F150. The problem I see with the lightning is it only has 175 mile range. That is a deal killer for any truck owner, but Ford hasn't figured that out yet.

These Telsa batteries are just 7,000 18650s. AKA flashlight batteries. Even a single one can be an issue if the wrap gets scratched, poles touch something or it just gets hot. It will discharge or vent gas (called thermal runway) till it catches on fire. I am actually rewraping some of mine now that got scratched. I also have one in my truck in an overpriced light (Cloud Defensive MCH) that starts very very dim now and gets brighter after a few seconds because of the cold weather.

But anyway this Elon is a supergenius right? :D

I love my DeWalt 20v tools, but before those, I had corded tools or hand powered tools...

To me, I want to hear the engine/exhaust rumble, I also prefer to shift gears manually, with my foot on the clutch and I cannot stand all of this electronic mess in these new vehicles! I don't care for it in the Ranger, that was one of the things I just dealt with.
