I may have finally had this HVAC issue hit my 2020 XLT. I've read a lot on it, but still a bit confused on if its the blend door or another part. Could someone explain to me what the blend door does? I do have the dual climate, but always have it set to have the dual climate off.

I set it to heat, and set it to blow at my feet. Nothing comes out, feel no air on my feet. I hear it blowing behind the dash. I then set it to come out on the higher vents, and it blows there. What part is causing this? Thanks,

To highlight operation of the doors.
In Heat operation they open
In AC Operation they close

These PID's are from my Autel Scanner, I do not believe Forscan will display these Pids
Yet - Anyway

Notes: For T/Shoot
Mode Door Position: (Normal Readings as Follows)
Defrost = 100%
Panel = 0%
Floor = 50%
Blend - Panel/Floor = 25%

Left / Right Blend Door (This is the Temp Actuator/ Door) Position, this will check max travel open and closed.
Any selected temp in between the (percent) will vary.
Hi (Heat) = 0%
Lo (Cold) = 100%

Left Discharge Panel Temp / Left Discharge Floor Temp
These temps will vary but should be close to each other, if mode is placed in Blend (Panel/Floor) if you wait about 5 minutes or so the temps should be near equal.

External Amb Temp - Should match OAT Temp, using your phone etc.

Internal Amb Temp - This is the Temp/Humidity Sensor, this reading will read high and or low, if just sitting still as the heat/cold air is rising up from the floor vents through the dash.

How does it work in auto? I always have mine on auto, except when I need to defrost. After successfully defrosting the windshield, I put it back on auto, and it immediately goes back to floor.

Mines been on “auto” since the day I bought it. I just adjust the temperature. I guess I‘ve never been too sensitive to where the air is coming from, but I always manage to get comfortable.

It's been cold AF here for a week... I've never really driven in really cold weather, and when I set it to blow at the floor, I could feel the heat, but when I reached down there I didn't really feel it blowing out like you'd expect, it was just sort of warm down there.

Over the years I've noticed it never really blows out with any force that you can feel. Not how I would like or expect, but I'm not losing sleep over it.

I don't like the hot air blowing in my face, so I always put it down low. I can't say that I can feel the wind blowing on my feet, but it does warm everything up nicely, especially in combination with the heated seats. So this must be the way that they designed it to work...

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
I've never had much air flow in my floor vents since getting the truck.
Same with mine. Haven't worried about it a whole lot. Dash vents and defrost will definitely move some air. But not so much via the floor.

Even with the recent arctic blast though truck is comfortable. Love the heated seats.

I only notice cause I have poor circulation in my feet and gets cold down there with these single digit temps.

Otherwise same for my upper vents; Plenty of flow especially after swapping for a washable cotton filter.

Wonder if I can repurpose the rear-seating floor vents...

i had my HVAC box and all that crud replaced last year. This year since it's been cold i've noticed that the heat blasts out to my feet from the center stack, but not on the left side of the driver area. So my leg closer to the door is chillier than my leg towards the inside of the car. I wasn't sure if this was a design either... I'd just been thinking about this so this thread is timely.

Interesting that many don't even feel the air movement... wtf
