As @VAMike said, the lashing straps are useful too, for lighter stuff. I use them a lot to keep lumber from sliding around. Something like these:

You can get all sorts of straps at Harbor Freight, however the quality is not great. For light loads I've found them to be fine - for the ratchet straps or heavier loads, I'd look elsewhere. I bought a set of "Goodyear" ratchet straps at Home Depot a few years ago and those have worked well.

I used Bullring tie downs on my Colorado. Doesn't look like they're available for the new Ranger though.

Edit: I just spoke with Bullring and they are working on the tie downs for the Ranger this week.

Please let the group know when they are available, I will get my new ranger in a week or two and I already know the factory tie downs will not work for a lot of things I do.

I only have 4 factory tie downs on my Lariat CC. Spoke with the dealer and they said they would have check to see that was what the specs were at the time my truck was built to determine if I am short 2 or not. My truck was built June 25. Any body built around then please let me know how many you have?

Looks like it then......I have the two rear ones next to the tailgate facing the cab and the front side ones facing inwards by the cab. Remember them clearly as I had to cut slits into my BedRug for them.


EDIT: I am getting old and my memory sucks....I do have six.

My Ranger just rolled off the assy line last month and has only 4. Went to dealer and complained and after showing him the brochure and them checking the build document that comes with each vehicle they ordered me 2 more to have installed when they arrive. Good luck

I only have 4 on my XL Super cab as well. Same birthday...

I dont remember when i was told they changed it, but there was a point in production where Ford stopped putting the middle tiedowns on rangers.

Mine was built in May and has all 6 tiedowns.

When I picked up my truck in August (July build) it only had four, it was missing the two middle ones. I pointed out that all of the other Rangers on the lot had six so I thought mine was missing two. They just grabbed two off another truck and put them in mine and said they'd order a couple in for the other truck.
