I just counted and 8 of the 10 "Trending Discussions" on this site are actually 6G topics. Of the TWO that aren't, one is this thread making fun of the other site and a thread about shocks that's actually pretty good.

Lately I've routinely seen half or more of the "Latest Posts" on the main Forum page be links to threads on the 6g forum. Just checked and there's now none (though the trending discussions are still predominantly 6g links, like in your screenshot). Perhaps "THEY" have finally realized that the ranger5g site should not be simply a forwarding URL for 6g?

CONFIRMED! THEY are indeed fixing it: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/can-we-stop-linking-to-ranger6g.20439/page-8#post-570743

To be honest, I'm not sure why this couldn't have been just a Ranger forum. Tacoma World has no issues having multiple gens on one site. As the 5th gen Ranger is now dead, the deals and advertising dollars from aftermarket will want to be where the action is. Give it a couple of years, and this place will look like The Ranger Station forum.

One mans opinion.

I agree with this sentiment. It should be an ongoing forum with generational subforums.

Your giving r5g infinitely too much credit trying to compare it to TRS..

While the folks here are nice and entertaining... it'll never be as valuable of a resource.

THE SIZE - two inches longer and two inches wider is not an improvement. I understand that this is what enables the extra width in the bed and allegedly more interior space, but the 6g is now right in the Full Size territory of 20 years ago.
It is my understanding that the extra length in the 6G is in the wheelbase. The overall length is the same.

I read varying reports that the overall length is "a little longer" to "two inches longer." You are correct that the wheelbase is definitely two inches longer, and I am hoping you are correct about the overall length, too.

_____
UPDATE: I just checked Car and Driver, and they are saying that the overall length is 0.2 inches shorter!

Well, to each their own.
For me, my 22 is perfect. I "built" that thing at the dealer and waited six months. It's a unicorn. I've never been more excited about getting a new vehicle and when I finally did get it, my expectations were surpassed.

As far as 6G is concerned, it's Raptor or bust. The digital gauge cluster would definitely be cool but I really like the standard cluster, not the Lariat version either. To be honest, if I could get the Raptor suspension on mine and throw in a tune I'd probably be satisfied for the rest of my life. The 2.7 seems interesting but seriously, you can just about get there with a tune on the 2.3. But what about a tune on the 2.7...? Yeah, that would probably kick ass.

I know a lot of us are defending our current model trucks and that's definitely fair. But I really do think that the 5G is where it's at. We'll see. I can't wait to see the real world video reviews of the 6G but really I want to see the Raptor reviews.
If the difference between the 5G and the 6G were as great as the difference between the 4G and the 5G, I think things would be WAY more exciting.

If I find myself in a financial position to order a Raptor I definitely will, for sure, 100%. But that's not likely to happen anytime soon.

well if i'm gonna whine about something unrealistic then i'm gonna say what i was really HOPING for:

a 2024 Ford Ranger FTB Edition -- powered by the Voodoo V8 Engine complete with a manual transmission.

oh, and FTB is for F*&k Them Bees cuz V8, lol
I believe I might be interested in such a creation. But might modify that slightly by saying, 7 speed dual clutch automatic. Can we get a petition going for a monster like that?

The part of this I don't agree with you on is the 5G being the better Ranger lol. Even though I own a 5G and like it, I wish I could go back in time and buy a new 4G.
amen same here. gosh they were cheap too! i see them used selling for more than they did new. i did not appreciate the 4g trucks as much when they were new as i do now. phill and his gang made a tough lil truck.

ford and ram dodge whatever they call it now and govt motors never seem to fully embrace mid size truck as mid size. they all started mid sized and then beefed up to being basically full size, over priced, under powered and ugly step child. mid size trucks are what folks keep going for years. that does not sell new trucks.
