What is the button with the "P"?

Does anyone know what the button with the "P" on it is? These are the buttons on the console of my Lariat. I know what all of them are except for the "P".

I don’t have a Ranger yet but I think it shuts the park assist sensors off?

That would be cool, pretty annoying listening to the alarm while backing to your trailer.
Really cool using the camera though.

It stops the parking assist from beeping incessantly when the tailgate is down, or you are in tall grass.

Oh man, I was driving home with a load the other day with the tailgate down and the beeping was driving me nuts when reversing. I wish I had bothered to look for this.

it looks like it's mentioned in the manual but not illustrated

If you look in the introduction with the pictures of all the dashboard icons, it shows the "Parking Aid" icon which looks like that button. Best I could find in the manual was that they could be disabled, but it didn't really specify how. I was thinking it was only the front ones, but I guess it is both front and rear, right?

I hadn't even thought about this. Glad it was mentioned. I have just put up with the warning sounds when backing up with the tailgate down and the kayak hanging out of the back on a bed extender. Will test it on the next fishing trip.

someone told me it was the panty remover button. what a liar.

That must have been a salesman trying to get you to buy - they will say just about anything....

I’m glad someone knew about this. I spent at least an hour looking in the manual online and couldn’t find anything about it. Kind of a neat feature.

I found it! It's the first paragraph on page 176 (parking aids) of the online user manual. Says you can turn it off with the button or from one of the menus.
