I agree - nothing there that makes me go -I want trade my 5g in. The raptor is nice for sure and that would be the one I would buy but still too rich for my blood (and when you convert to cdn $ it hurts even more).
I like the updated interior but I don’t really need any bigger screen - especially if Ford makes the screen background butt ugly as it is now or not allow it to be customizable. And make that screen dim separate from rest of the interior lights (my pet peeve with the current infotainment screen). Although I read somewhere (but don’t remember where) a study about the negative effects (distractions) with electronics screens becoming bigger in vehicles. I mean that screen is bigger then an iPad.
And despite how up-to-date an electronic E brake is - when that little motor goes it is a pain and cost mucho $ to replace (my niece has a escape and the electronic e brake motor stopped working and the motor was 300.00 cdn or so - not to mention not being able to drive and the vehicle had to be towed because there was no way to disengage the brake). I am still happy with an manual e brake like ours (even though the boot rips constantly - but I have a replacement boot coming from redline goods so end of problem).

The benefit (maybe) of the 6g coming is some places are clearing out their stock of 5g accessories. Three weeks ago I got the knock off grill for 100. This week I got husky liners mudguards from Canadian tire - they discounted it from last week which was 138.00 to 83.00 this week. So I made “another” impulse” buy? ( really good deal when I saw the price had gone up on Amazon!).

The 5G forum is full of links to 6G articles about how it costs too much, there's no Tremor, we didn't get the international versions (again) the deleted parts didn't come back, no two door option, what rear air...

I don't know but it sounds like a bunch of people expected Ford to suddenly stop being Ford. So far this is looking like this biggest Blue Oval thing they have ever done. Bwaaaaahahahahaha!

But seriously... Can we get back to talking about the better Ford Ranger? The REAL Ford Ranger? The 5G Ranger? If I wanted to crawl through a mountain of butt hurt, I'd go sign up at Ranger6G. Frankly I don't and I haven't. Let them have the 6G forum for all of their pity party while we enjoy riding around in a truck that you have to throw your testicles into the bed if you want to have people inside the cab with you.

I signed onto the 6G forum Greg and I agree that there is a lot of whining by some of the participants.

I joined the fray on one of the threads to express how underwhelmed I was.

I just wanted a crew cab with a long bed. I don’t want a full size truck if I can get a mid size in that configuration. That’s the only reason I’d go from 5G to 6G.

BUUUUUUUT the silver lining is now I don’t feel bad pulling the trigger on a new suspension for my 2019 and investing money in it. So I got that goin for me!

I'm glad I decided to buy my '21 Tremor a week ago. There's only a couple of things the 6G has that I really see as an upgrade. The option of the 2.7L and all those storage pockets in the dash. Everything is ok but not worth how much more it would cost to get similarly equipped.

i like my 5g a lot. its the right size, comfy and has enough tech where i like it and am weary of it but not so much i hate and fear it lol. the 5g is stupid capable off road. however, it is no 4g ranger. they dont give up. when the last 5 and 6 gen rangers are delivered to the scrap yard the delivery driver will park his tractor and drive home in a 4g lol.

I’m into the 6G. Will drive my 2021 for another 2-3 years though.
Bigger engine available on the Lariat, 48” between the wheel wells, 360 cam, and talk of a heated steering wheel - for me. A place for the passenger to put their phone - for the girlfriend.
I would like the Raptor. But those typically do not qualify for A-Plan.
I know I will NOT be buying a Taco next.

Hey Greg,

I agree about the odd behaviour over on 6g. A lot of the folks there seem to hang on every bit of speculation and wishful thinking Ford Authority writes. Without any official word from Ford, they get all ginned up on how they think the 6g will be equipped and then they’re butt hurt when it’s launched without any of the Maverick or ROW Ranger features they wanted.

My favourite is when they whine about there not being a Wildtrak version, so instead of the new 6g, they’ll be buying something else, which is also NOT a Wildtrak. ?

So, if there’s no return of the deleted items, no SuperCab option, no WildTrak, and a Maverick-like grille, that leaves me feeling pretty darn good about my 2019 XLT Scab

I like my 5G, only thing that would make me look at a 6G would be a PHEV. Just built a 23 like mine, 48k with 7.99%. Got mine for 46k OTD, NFW
am I going to pay over 50K for another vehicle. A PHEV, $$$$, I'll
be keeping my 5G for a while.

The part of this I don't agree with you on is the 5G being the better Ranger lol. Even though I own a 5G and like it, I wish I could go back in time and buy a new 4G.
