God damn you! I just broke down and ordered it!
Trust me it's really one of the best mods you can buy. Well besides a damper of course. ? You'll wish you bought it sooner, I did.

I can concur with this statement.... I'm currently running the Livernois Tow tune (regular shift) - I'm probably going to be changing to the 87 non soft shift tune soon - That tune pretty much restored the 1-2 MPG I lost with my bigger tires. The tow tune seems to be a bit less MPG.

You won't regret getting the tune though....

Will be trying the 91/93 soft shift tune first. But will probably settle for the 87-89 performance tune

I was running the soft shift 87 tune for quite a while - I thought I'd try the tow tune for a while but I think I will return to the 87 - I wanted to go away from the soft shift tune - think maybe it was a bit easier on the transmission.

The HO is 310 hp/430 tq. If you go with the Trail Boss you can have the dealer Flash the tune for $500 to give you the same output of the HO and retain the warranty. The WT (work truck) has the same 2.7 but you can not flash that one to the HO. It does have different internals and a different transmission so it can't take the added power. Supposedly the 8L80 transmission has been fixed while the 8L45 used in the work truck and LT has had adjustments but it's still not perfect.

There's a video in the link about the transmissions.

Yeah I read about the engine strengthening, block and internals, the $1500 I mentioned was an upgrade from the base engine to the the mid for $1k and then the $500 dealer flash to ho version, I think it's a good strategy . I've not followed the tranny but know ford shares the basic design so if Chevy had to "fix" their version , wonder if the issues folks post on the 10r80 are nothing to take lightly. We'll see how ford prices the raptor with competition from a redesigned zr2 and zr1 which can be had with the ho engine.

23.5 is great MPG! What size are you tires and how high is your level/lift? Since my tire/ level mods, I can't seem to get better than 20 maaaybe 21 MPG (strictly Hwy). But I'm also located in So Cal where they screw us not only on the price of fuel, but quality of it. And I only use premium from reputable gas stations.

I'm running Nitto Ridge Grapplers 265/70/17 with Eibach coilovers set to 2.5". Also have a Livernois 91-93 performance tune and I usually fill up at either Costco or Sam's Club and we only get 91 here too.

Driving back from Mexico yesterday I started thinking again on how much I really love this truck. I mean it’s just a darn truck so what’s wrong with me that I keep obsessing over this thing? I’m 44 months into owning it and I feel like I did the first day I saw it on the dealers lot.:inlove: It really is one of the most comfortable vehicles I’ve ever owned and even on our trip last year I was never uncomfortable while driving it and I did 5,000 that month.

It drives so smooth and it seems the faster you’re going the smoother it gets. Must have something to do with having a damper? ? I’m still super impressed that this only a little 4 banger but the tune does make a HUGE difference. Driving along at 70 and hitting the gas makes me laugh because this thing really takes off like a rocket! ? I was averaging 75-80 mph the whole way home and still managed to get 23.5 mpg for the 180 mile long trip back. I still think I have the wrong engine in it. lol Sid @Msfitoy be quiet, I still have 64,400 miles to go before it goes. ? Did I mention it's a 2019 and the best color...Saber!?

Do you think the tune helps with the MPG?

It does as long as you're not constantly into the boost which is tough not to do. lol When I first added the larger tires and lift I lost about 1-2 mpg. Then once I added the tune I gained it back. I think a lot of it also has to do with the transmission not lugging and searching for the right gear when you're at lower speeds. It's really smooth now throughout.

That's almost worth it even if the MPG isn't significantly improved. Basically calibrating the speedo to account for the larger tires and correct transmission shift points. I'm running 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers with Icon 2.5 coilovers. So I really feel that lug and search you're describing with the tranny. I need that tune. Was just procrastinating because of my Ford service warranty. I'll still get it.

I couldnt agree with you more about how much I love my 2019 Ranger Lariat. I first saw one that I really liked in August 2022. I decided I had to have one. Subsequently, I did a national search, primarily on CarFax, for a low mileage 2019 Lariat with the 502A package, in Saber Orange. After about 3 months of combing the online ads, I came across one near Cleveland (I live in Michigan). I got as many details and pictures as possible from the Ford salesman. I had to see it so I flew to Cleveland. The salesman picked me up from the airport and drove the 25 miles to the Ford location. I looked over the truck, drove it, asked to have a few items taken care of, negotiated a decent price and bought it. Never any regrets. In fact the icing on the cake was that the truck was still on factory warranty (24,000 miles on the odometer), and further, was Gold Certified by the dealership. This gave me 100,000 miles coverage on the drive train, and another year on the bumper to bumper warranty. Let's not forget the 3 year 0.9% interest plan. What's there not to like??!! This is my 3rd Ranger. I previously had a 98 4 banger and a 2003 6 cylinder truck. The new one has so much more power then the 6 cylinder unit. Looking forward to experiencing the off road features along with some road trips when the weather warms up.

Glad you found the Ranger you were looking for and a good dealer Jim. Of course you picked the best color Saber and the best year that has all the deleted items. ? Right John @SigOris?:shock:
