Years back my dad had a Lincoln "executive series" with the key pad. i thought it was some space age super tech lol. i think it was 1992 or 1993. it was ok till the buttons got worn out and weathered. i still remember the code -12,34,78,34,34. didnt do much good. that car was such a lemon you could leave the key on the hood and no one would get far. it was pretty cush in side. like a leather lazyboy on wheels.

Is it possible to add that. I would much rather have the button pad.
Yeah, it's a dealer item. But they have to program it, unless there is a way in Forscan. Around $200.

I guess there's no reason to carry a fob using your method. lol ?
Haha, yep not too much the jaws won't fix. Or the K12. And when all else fails, flip it and burn it. You just have to been able to explain the decision is all.

True, I think the battery life was at least 7 years. Also, it has a way of letting you know it's getting low.
The keypad on a 2014 Focus I bought new had the battery go bad after the first year. They don't go bad suddenly, at least mine didn't. It died gradually over a few weeks. First I had to push each number harder and after a while only the unlock feature worked. Replaced it under the 3/36 warranty.

Wow, that was fast. I had a 2012 for 9 years, put the keypad on around year 5, and it still works. (I sold it to a friend). I think when the Ranger one starts to go, it double locks/unlocks to let you know it's replacement time.

A word to the wise, if you depend on electric then first create a alternate manual system cause electric goes out.

The old prospecter cried to the Lord "My donkey died Lord what do I do. The Lord replied get off your dead ass and walk."
