I'm not a fanboy to anything and if there'a another good product out there I'll consider buying it. You can't deny the new 6g is ugly except the Raptor? IF the feedback comes out good once they're on the streets I'll for sure give it a look.

I still round the corner and see my truck and think "I this really mine!" These Rangers really are a sweet spot in the mid-size market; any smaller and we would bitch.. Any larger and we would surely bitch Ha! Maybe the most versatile, useful, and fun vehicle I have ever owned. One of the reasons I bought my Ranger is because of the long trips we take on highways at 70-80mph. It's the best handling truck on the highway that I've ever owned.

And I don't even have a damper.

Driving back from Mexico yesterday I started thinking again on how much I really love this truck. I mean it’s just a darn truck so what’s wrong with me that I keep obsessing over this thing? I’m 44 months into owning it and I feel like I did the first day I saw it on the dealers lot. It really is one of the most comfortable vehicles I’ve ever owned and even on our trip last year I was never uncomfortable while driving it and I did 5,000 that month.

It drives so smooth and it seems the faster you’re going the smoother it gets. Must have something to do with having a damper? ? I’m still super impressed that this only a little 4 banger but the tune does make a HUGE difference. Driving along at 70 and hitting the gas makes me laugh because this thing really takes off like a rocket! ? I was averaging 75-80 mph the whole way home and still managed to get 23.5 mpg for the 180 mile long trip back. I still think I have the wrong engine in it. lol Sid @Msfitoy be quiet, I still have 64,400 miles to go before it goes. ? Did I mention it's a 2019 and the best color...Saber!?

I have the Livernois tune and I'm running the 91-93 performance tune. I installed it way before the warranty was over back in August of 2020 and I do have an extended warranty too. With the Livernois tune they give you 5 tunes:
87-89 soft shift & performance tunes
91-93 soft shift & performance tunes
tow tune

Many like using the tow tune for everyday driving but I didn't care for it. One good thing about the tow tune is you can use any octane 87-93 with it. Plus it only takes 2-3 minutes to flash between tunes so you can find the one you like best and change them if needed.

1-2 mpg at best when you drive it normal. I added larger tires and a lift so there I lost about 2 mpg but then the tune gained it back. One nice thing too is it really smooths out the shifts so it's not so harsh like it is stock.

The Raptor will get me to trade mine in as long as it's not $65K+. Actually I kind of set my limit at $60K and even that has me second guessing it the longer I wait.

I love the thought of a PHEV. But if it looks like what we see now (6g renderings or whatever you wanna call it) I think they're ugly looking and wouldn't consider it.

This is the longest I've kept a truck in over 20 years so I'm really itching for a new one. lol The only other truck that's caught my eye is the new ZR2 which should be out by early summer. Plus I want to fully retire soon and write one more truck off while I can so I'll have some decisions to make once the Raptor pricing comes out.

Whats the high end Chevy torque rating 422 /lbs/ft ?

The HO is 310 hp/430 tq. If you go with the Trail Boss you can have the dealer Flash the tune for $500 to give you the same output of the HO and retain the warranty. The WT (work truck) has the same 2.7 but you can not flash that one to the HO. It does have different internals and a different transmission so it can't take the added power. Supposedly the 8L80 transmission has been fixed while the 8L45 used in the work truck and LT has had adjustments but it's still not perfect.

That all said, the second-gen GM eight-speed automatic transmission in the 2023 Chevy Colorado is still vastly improved compared to the preceding GM eight-speed automatic, even with the issues outlined above. To note, the GM eight-speed automatic family includes the 8L45 and 8L80, the former of which connects to the 2.7L Turbo engine (RPO code L2R, standard on WT and LT), while the latter connects to the 2.7L Turbo Plus engine (RPO code L3B, standard on Z71 and Trail Boss, available on WT and LT) and 2.7L Turbo High-Output engine (standard on ZR2).
