Damn.. I've already had them on for about 4 months now. So far so good.. But I haven't had much opportunity to ride them hard and put them to the tests I normally would on the trail. Mind if I ask what issues you've had? Appreciate the "heads up."
AEM Dryflow Performance Filter. Could be the "placebo" effect.. but it feels like there's just a bit more torque than OEM. Either way, this one is easy to clean and reuse. It's handled some real dusty environments
I basically have this same Icon kit "Superdannyboy" listed. I started with the 2.5 shocks front and back with UCA's. Then I added the leafs and it's a completely different truck. It rides so much better on and off road. Getting new bump stops isn't a bad idea either and relatively inexpensive. I...
Good luck with your new tires! Before the Nitto's I had Falken Wildpeak A/T. It was a decent enough tire being on the lower priced side for A/T tires. But I felt those started to wear prematurely too. I rotate every 5-6k miles too. You just never know
Wow, toast after 31k miles? I have Nitto Ridge Grapplers and love them. Hoping that kind of short tread life is a fluke because I like the "hybrid" all terrain /mud aspect of that tire.
That's almost worth it even if the MPG isn't significantly improved. Basically calibrating the speedo to account for the larger tires and correct transmission shift points. I'm running 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers with Icon 2.5 coilovers. So I really feel that lug and search you're describing...
23.5 is great MPG! What size are you tires and how high is your level/lift? Since my tire/ level mods, I can't seem to get better than 20 maaaybe 21 MPG (strictly Hwy). But I'm also located in So Cal where they screw us not only on the price of fuel, but quality of it. And I only use premium...
Last week I took my family on a camping trip up in Northern California. We went with a large group and rode with a few different vehicle setups. There was a modified Jeep Wrangler, Gladiator, Tacoma TRD Pro and 4 Runner TRD hitting the OHV trails alongside my Ranger FX4.
The trails up here...
That's helpful.. makes a lot of sense. As you mentioned, I might just leave the front as is in their pre- set 4 without adding the valves. I like the way it rides anyway.. and then I can just add it to the rear. I can at least start with the rear and depending on how the front/ rear balance goes...
My brother in law has a full King 2.5 setup front and back with CDCV resi's on his "Taco." He loves it and can't say enough good things about it. You'd probably be happy with it. I was actually going to get King instead of Icon. But for whatever reason, there was an 8 week backorder on the kit...
Thanks.. funny enough, as we speak I'm looking at the Stage 3 motorsport website (dangerous hole in the wallet) and noticed they have the new fin resi's with the valves. Those look pretty nice.
Btw.. after doing some "heavier" off roading on Fri, it was the first time I was a little bothered by the leaf spring setup. This time I was off roading at higher speeds and I'm sure that's why it was more noticeable. I'm going to get that Deaver leaf pack after all.. as long as it doesn't...
Nice, that's good info, Scooter. I'll have to check out the Icon leafs too. That probably would have just taken it up to their "next stage" on the kit if I had added those too. I like the sound of the 3/8" option. Because now my truck sits perfectly level. I wouldn't mind a tiny bit of rake. But...
