I was on I 15 about 15 miles from Las Vegas when I posted that message a truly disgusting amount of litter for many miles.
Yeah, but I have never seen anything worse than the roads of Sicily. I was there in '90 with the Navy. Trash everywhere! Even in neighborhoods you would see mounds of trash, on fire, on the road sides. It was ugly and it stunk!

I saw Tucker Carlson grocery shopping in Russia. The cart there had a coin operated lock on it. You deposited a dollar coin in them, and got your money back when you returned the cart to the cart bin.

A really good idea!

BTW, they stayed for a week and the team ordered groceries for the entire week. They made wagers about the cost. The average wager was $400. The bill came to $100! They were all stunned. The selection of foods was om par with the typical US grocery store.
Aldis nation wide here in the US does that
I can never find a quarter in my truck ...

Ok, so I pull into the parking garage and parked in a row that was completely empty. So I park right in the middle with multiple spots on both sides of me, When I came back after my appointment there was only one other car in the same row. And this is how they parked. WTF?

This is my old F150 that my father-in-law still drives.

It looks worse now now than when I had it 20 years ago, but not much worse.

NOBODY ever parked next to it because they KNEW you didn't care.

It was about as WalMart proof as you can get.

It was and still is a great old truck.

300 inline 6, 4 speed manual with granny first, 4x4, and dual fuel tanks (it needed them!).

Not pretty but as reliable as the sun as there was not a whole lot to go wrong.
And you have the added advantage of projecting the “Go head. Make my day. Cut me off.” attitude in traffic!!!!!

While I agree with basically everything stated here, I feel the need to mention a different perspective. Young forum members can move on now as you will not have a clue what I am talking about.

“Back in da day” carts were not an issue. Store employees took your stuff to your car, loaded it, and took the cart back with them. ( I was one of those young whippersnappers all through high school.) Of course that was after a REAL PERSON rang up your purchase and most likely provided a bit of pleasant conversation while doing so.

What do we get now? A massive spread of 30 check out lines with employee operated registers. How many are open and manned at any given time? Three. Three tops. But the SELF CHECKOUT lanes are open! What’s next?! Want me to come in Saturday and stock the damn shelves for you?!?!?!? When’s the next truck arrive? Let me know and I’ll come in and help unload it. :headbang:

All that whining and bitching I will say this, I always put my cart back. Always. Except for Lowe’s. Go there to buy lumber or landscape supplies and what do you have to do? Run around, ultimately going outside to find the damn cart. Well if I had to go retrieve it then I am sure as heck not dragging it back to the corral. It’ll be WAY out in the parking lot because that is where I park.

Go to Home Depot? Carts lined up orderly in the aisle! Right where you need it. Grab one and go. Therefore I always put their cart back in the corral.

Rant over.

Get off my lawn!
