Three trips to the local dealer for numerous battery warning messages on Sync. Each time dealer said battery tested 'great'. Even left over night to ensure battery was fully charged to help figure out issue. Last visit, after waiting two hours to pick up vehicle, was told they needed to consult Ford for further trouble shooting path. Been a year, and still waiting, service writer stopped taking my calls. Replaced the battery on my dime, problems went away instantly! Move to a different city and found a incredible service oriented dealer, so I guess it is hit and miss. I wish Ford would ensure dealers conform to certain standards of care. I know Fords new CEO is pushing better quality, I think a large part of it should also be 'taking care of issues after the fact, through warranty' I feel dealers have too much leeway on determining what is covered or deeming repairs worth doing under warranty. From what I gather, dealers have to justify each warranty repair, and sometimes the paper work needed doesn't justify the effort. Because of this, I am no longer brand-loyal to Ford, as I was before purchasing my 2019 Ranger.

Just once when I had it in for an oil change and asked them to look at the hard downshifting when coming to a stop. Naturally they found nothing wrong. Problem seems to have fixed itself.
47,000 miles and no other issues, which I attribute to being an early-build 2020 (11/2019) before Covid, parts and worker shortages, and decontenting.

Thing is I might have to keep it forever because I'm afraid a new one won't be as good.

(Insert Borat voice) "I have hood struts and rocker panel plugs and he does not. Great success."

Okay, it's holding about the same percentages at 171 votes 46% yes, 54% no.

I still think that's high for having warranty repairs, 46% !!

I now think the the people who had warranty repairs are chiming in more, I should have titled it differently, because if I had a truck that never went back, I probably wouldn't click on the post in the first place.

I should have titled it 'How many people never went back for warranty repairs'

No recalls. Took it in to my dealer about a year and a half ago for the mysterious water leak/mildew smell. They were already familiar with it and had it fixed and carpet replaced without any questions or delay. No trouble since.

Still has same battery, same brakes. etc. (I should check the brake pads just to make sure they're not due).

Now, once I click "Post Reply" I'll probably have a major mechanical issue in 3...2...1... LOL

Over 46% of people that responded to this poll have been back to the dealer for warranty work? That is insane! Over the past 40+ years of buying new vehicles (15), I've only had 2 that have needed warranty repairs.

If this poll was out a couple years ago when I purchased my Ranger, I would have had second thoughts. This is my first new Ford, though. Maybe the old saying of "Found On Road Dead" is making a comeback! :)

But you have to take into consideration there was only 173 votes out of 15,000+ members. Then the amount of Rangers sold over the past 5 years and it's not all doom and gloom.

Plus some of us like myself had minor warranty claims, mine was for a dead battery. If we were seeing blown motors, transmissions (beyond the couple here) or other major repairs then I'd be worried. Polls and threads like these are tough because while there are a few who've had some major issues it doesn't represent the many that don't. Take a deep breath, back away from the cliff and drive your FFR! ?

Mine was fine for the first year then the electrical nightmares began. Started with parking sensors, several replaced and wiring harness repair due to corrosion. Then got air bag sensor errors, same problem. Rear license plate lights, once again corrosion. Horn stopped working, this was a broken wire under the dash. I contacted Ford Customer Service and they had the dealer pull apart every connector under the truck to ensure there was dielectric grease in all connections as there was none. This has pretty much solved the problems (at least for now) as there have been no further issues for almost a year now. Ford did give me the best extended warranty they offer. Basically bumper to bumper to 72k with $100 deductable. Also sent me a $250 visa card for my troubles and 3 years worth of oil changes and tire rotations every 5k. If this had been my first Ford not sure if I would ever consider another one. But all in all this is probably my most favorite truck I have ever had... and I must say Ford did stand behind it.

My passenger rear window is loose. When rolled half way down you can wiggle the window back and forth. Have an appointment at dealer in a week to get it fixed
