especially since if you forget to take it off it just pops off when you drop the glove box ?‍The cable is trickier to get back on than it was to get off.
Not removed for cost savingsDon't feel bad - I've done the same thing on numerous occasions, but I'm getting better at remembering to look at YouTube for videos on stuff like this. It is amazing how useful a video is over just printed directions.
And to remain on topic, it really is as easy as the video shows to replace the cabin air filter - I was a little worried about the damper thing, but it is really simple. And I guess if you have a newer model (21 and later maybe?) you don't have to worry about the damper - it was a victim of cost cutting....
I have mentioned this somewhere ( probably the damper thread) that my 19 does not have the glove box damper so I figured I don't need the tailgate damper. I do have hood struts.Don't feel bad - I've done the same thing on numerous occasions, but I'm getting better at remembering to look at YouTube for videos on stuff like this. I always forget to check mine and finally did a couple months ago. After 3 years it still was pretty clean (surprisingly with all the dust in the air here) so I just blew it out with an air hose for now until I can remember to pick one up. Of course that could be in another 3 years.I'm just going to go ahead and admit...I didn't know I had a cabin air filter...
So tricky the folks on the assembly line can’t get them attached and everyone thinks they were decontented. The cable is trickier to get back on than it was to get off.
A “Cheap Trick”, huh? Do you mean the tailgate damper is saying, “I want you to want me”?Yeah it's a cheap trick Ford is playing on Ranger owners. Wow you with a damper on the glove box and bupkis on the tailgate. Good thing I came along.?
Since Ford eliminated the hood struts, there may be a huge supply of unused struts hidden in some warehouse.I have mentioned this somewhere ( probably the damper thread) that my 19 does not have the glove box damper so I figured I don't need the tailgate damper. I do have hood struts.![]()
You don't want to know what they did to potential customers with those hood strutsSince Ford eliminated the hood struts, there may be a huge supply of unused struts hidden in some warehouse.
Maybe it's possible to repurpose them and use them for glove box dampers.....
Mine was gross after 2. Either I live in a dirtier place or your threshold forI always forget to check mine and finally did a couple months ago. is lower. Different strokes for diffrent folks, I guess. It's been a long time (but it doesn't seem like it for people who remember carberateurs) since cars didn't have cabin air filters.I'm just going to go ahead and admit...I didn't know I had a cabin air filter...
Those I'm more diligent about changing. We run our AC 6-7 months here so I change them out every 30 days. I just had a new unit installed last year so it's cheap insurance for keeping the coils clean. You're right those get dirty fast which is surprising since the windows are closed and we have no pets. With all that's going on in life I now set a recurring monthly reminder on my phone so I don't forget.Unrelated to vehicles, this reminded me to order a new house furnace filter!!
That sucka gets dirty running the AC all summer.
