After seeing EVs self erupt after the hurricane in Florida, my fantasy of owning an EV is over. Yes, flooding is a slim chance, flooding in saltwater, an even slimmer chance but I think it revealed what age and general environment exposure will do to these vehicles and their risk.

Back to the topic.............Negotiations are starting their return to pre-pandemic. I seen a local dealer to me advertise a discount on a Ranger, I have not seen that in a couple of years and Ford just sent me one of those coupons for $2k off an F150. The window is closed.

Not looking to sell but if a ranger6G PHEV comes out, I'll probably be tempted. I bought to pull a travel trailer, unless that plan goes south, I might sell, but probably keep. Unless gremlins crop up.
I have no clue what tomorrow will bring.

I probably will if i can snag a bronco with lockers and the manual transmission. That or the 6g ranger if it offers the same manual transmission as the bronco. Slim to no chance of that being available on the new ranger though.

I came close to sellling mine several times when I was getting insane offers above what I paid.

Nothing else really interested me so I hung onto it.

I'm still offered a couple of thousand over what I paid for my Ranger, but then I bought mine right before the pandemic and Ford rebates/incentives were crazy.

But I've decided that this is a keeper and I just purchased the extended warranty since my 3/36 is up next month.

The only reason I bought the warranty is because of my concerns with the HVAC box eventually warping. I have no concerns about the drivetrain.

Self driving cars kinda tend to kill their owners....sometimes they kill motorcyclists too...technologies's not there by a long shot...

Anyone want to buy a mint Ranger? Only 97,000 miles... ?
Until the rate was 100% I would never use the autonomous feature. I trust myself driving way more than some computer.

Only 97K? Sid you're slacking off! ?

I added an extended warranty (first time ever buying one) because I plan on keeping my Ranger longer than I normally do. I really want the new 6G PHEV Ranger as that fits my driving style but a Ranger Raptor sure would be nice. But I'm sure there's going to be a hefty add on for these so unless I can find a dealer willing to sell at msrp the PHEV will most likely be my next one.

I’m always surprised by how many people buy trucks that apparently don’t need one. Exchange the Ranger for a Tesla? No, because I need a truck. A Tesla, or any car for that matter, could only be a second vehicle for me.

Nope. Right at about 35,300 miles. Debating extended warranty, but I usually bet on myself. Will probably continue to "self insure."

I wouldn't consider getting rid of my Ranger until I could get myself into a 2door Bronco AND my squarebody chevy is done to take over tow-rig duties.

We actually HAD ours up for sale and had a buyer till this morning. Wife didn't want to let it go, a truck is just handy. Felt bad for the guy that was going to come pick it up at the end of the month after we get back from Baja. I'm still going to have to off the Touareg I picked up to make a soft roader to take my 82 year old mother out on trips, Don't need it anymore since her little brother died ( F cancer ) and I bought his Jeep from my aunt to fill that purpose ( now I have both his Jeeps, the 73 and the 2012 ).

His ( now our ) Jeep, with my mom in the back and the wife driving.

F150 19 mpg city, peaked at 21mpg.
Ranger 18 mpg city, Peaked at 22.5 mpg.

F150 was 4wd, ranger is 2wd. Want to make more assumptions?
I've had similar results so dont feel like you are the only one. The last full size i had was a 2017 GMC Sierra Crew cab SLT Plus with 5.3 v8 and 8speed auto with 4x4. It felt like you were driving a tank. My mpg on that full size and the Ranger Tremor is within .5 mpg. Both in the 20-21 average range manually calculated. I still live and drive in the same area and routes, so from my experience, the mpg advantage of a mid size truck isn't all that great. I did go to a mid size because of the added maneuverability, so that wasn't my reason for switching and not a deciding factor.
