Biggest tires, no lift?

If you’re willing to upgrade to a 17”, my calculations show a 255/70r17 is .5” larger diameter than the factory size. It’s what I’m going to spec out to replace my 18” wheel/tire package as I’m going to a 17” wheel now

Just an update; this is what 255/70r17 looks like. Zero lift, zero rubbing under any conditions. 1” bigger than stock. Wheels are 17x7.5 et35

285/70-17, no lift yet thanks to Eibach dropping the ball But with the front/rear beams removed, everything clears. Slight rub on rear liner at extreme lock but not an issue. Liner shows no wears after thousands of miles. Caveat...I have +20 offset and you will need the same if you want the same result

I really haven't nailed that down yet...I'm getting 23+ on highway, 18-19 city. That said, could be that's a pesimistic calculation due to it being calibrated for smaller 265 OEM tires. 285 travel further so logically, I should account for the difference and the real mileage should be slightly higher...does that make sense or am I getting that backwards?

I'm wondering the same, I went up an inch as well with the Falkens. For one revolution of the driveshaft, the tire now covers more distance so yes, the MPG should be inflated. But, that also assumes that you're using the same amount of fuel for one revolution of the driveshaft. Now that the tires are heavier with more load on the engine, you should be using more fuel per revolution of the driveshaft which deflates the MPG. I think it kinda balances itself out?

Only way to know for sure is to have the speedo re-calibrated for the new diameter...

Another confirmation on fitment with 265/70/17 (just under 32") whereas OEM is 265/65/17 (30.6"). I went with Falken Wildpeak AT3W - with a set being $500, can't beat the value. There's no rubbing at full lock when static, but I will note that when I zipped into a parking space, I heard a little bit of rubbing when the suspension compressed a little bit. Not too worried but I wouldn't go bigger without a lift.

I'm also surprised at how much of a difference I felt on the road. Truck feels a little more sluggish with the heavier tires and I feel the extra inch of ride height when driving too. I also just went to the off road park a few weeks ago with the OEM Hankook's, and I'll be going again this weekend with the Falken's, so I'll update with a comparison!

That's a great comparison photo. Gives a better idea of the difference and just how much the new tires fill in the wheel well.

Keep us in the loop, these are the tires Im looking at to replace the stockers in the fall before the snow files, be interested in how you like them, noise level etc.

Yokohama X-A/T (Brand New Tire) 285/70/17...2.5" leveling kit, only had to cut rear crash bars.
