Questio one. In the .pdf document for instructions, it says:
"Use a marker to make marks
on the bottom side of both the retaining ring and the new boot, this will assist in getting
correct alignment when you glue the boot to the ring. "

Since the pleather is black and the pvc plastic ring is black.... what did you use for a marker so you could see your marks for lining up? Or didn't you find it necessary to make marks?

Second question. I'm not in any rush to get the replacement boot but wondering if anyone has selected free Priority Mail (no tracking) instead of extra cost of FedEx, and if so... how long did it actually take to get your boot?

I just put mine on. I just made marks on the inside of the boot with a black sharpie. You can see the marks enough to glue it.

You can definitely see the difference between the leather and pleather

Just want to put a shout out to Redline for taking the time to help us Ranger owners remedy this I have not taken delivery of mine...yet, but I definitely will be interested when the time/funds permit. Been lurking on the forum for a few months now while patiently waiting for my truck. Amazing how some things FORD has done a good job on, and other things they (or their vendors) have really dropped the ball on. Nice to know that I personally could take care of this with a better made product, and most importantly, avoid the risks associated with visiting the dealer service department. Again, kudos Redline.
