I've been toying around with the idea of a replacement rear shock. No real problems with the Belltech shocks, but I'm an unashamed Bilstein fanboy.

I took the measurements with the 4" rear drop, and it came out to appx. 16" ride length, 12.5" compressed, 18.5" extended, 6" stroke.

Searched Bilstein's catalog and came across the B8 5125 in part#33-062518 which is a nearly perfect match. Only thing that would need to be addressed is the eyelet sleeve size. Our's is 12.7mm and B8s are 5/8". Pretty easy workaround.

Also this part is for the 1975 Jeep CJ5 which has several more options including an air shock from Gabriel part#49310

Let us know how it turns out.

On that note, how do you like the ride of the Belltech kit now that you have owned it a while?

My truck rides pretty dang rough. I am not complaining because the handling is amazing now but I gave up alot of ride quality to get it.

It's definitely firmer than stock, but I'm running Goodyear Comfortread tires, so my ride is still pretty decent. Only thing I've noticed is that the front will bottom out on deep pot holes, so I try to avoid those. Other than that no real complains.

There's a guy on the FB group that says the new coilovers are a big improvement over the drop struts. So, I've been thinking about going that route. I'll figure it out after I pay the truck off next month.

So the majority of lowered Rangers seem to be 2wd. Id really like to do the Belltech 2/4 kit but have a 4x4.

Has anyone lowered their ranger that has 4wd? In reading their instructions it says you will get vibrations over 70mph

My plan is to use their new front coil overs, rear flip kit at 4", and new UCA's but I don't wanna be dealing with vibrations as I do a lot of highway driving and commuting as its my daily.

I think lowering a 4x4 would be a bad idea. Too much driveline stuff going on that’s designed for a certain level of clearance.

The same could be said about lifting one....

@Urabus33 -- And yes, there are a couple of folks that have lowered their 4x4's, you'll just have to wait for them to check in or search for them.

I've been monitoring this thread for a while, finally joined. I used the Belltech kit on my 2WD Supercab, lowered 2/5. My caster and camber are both out of spec so I'm watching for a good control arm solution. Is anyone planning to use the upper ones from Belltech? I ordered them from Mad Viking Performance but they canceled, told me to check availability before purchasing.

I noticed that they were no longer available on Belltechs website. I am interested as well. I want to drop the front another inch.

If you don't include pictures of your truck lowered then it didn't happen!
