Family bought the busted old Chevy 2500 and put it back on the road. Surprised the crap outta me. I thought that truck had been sold for scrap months ago!
He back-halfed it with a frame and bed from another 2500. The fab work underneath is really nice.
That's been my thought process all along. If you like the style of an F150 wheel then these adapters really open up your available options for fitment.
Read through my posts. You will need an adapter and may have rubbing issues with stick F150 tires.
I would love to see someone else try this mod! I was very pleased with how it turned out.
Wanting to update this post and maybe get some interest going.
These tires stuck to the road very well and my Ranger handled like a go cart with this setup. I have my truck lowered and these wheels completed the sport truck look and feel that I was going for.
The tires alone were $180 a piece...
Wanted to let anyone interested in my wheel and tire setup know that it is all for sale. Check my thread in Wheels and Tires For Sale to see the sale ad. PM me if you have any questions. Thank you!
I am selling my setup for my Ranger. This is a one of a kind setup with 20" F150 wheels on BORA adapters. The tires are 265/50R20 BFG Advantage T/A LT. Only 6000 miles on the whole setup. TPMS sensors are installed but will need programmed to your truck. Check out my thread, @F150 Wheels on...
Just got home from summer vacation to Coastal North Carolina. Ran 70 - 74 mph and averaged 15.5 mpg. Van performed perfectly and we are so happy with our decision.
No one has ever said the Belltech kit was a comfy ride. It definitely is not, but the fact that you are blasting down canyons with BMWs tells you that it definitely improves handling.
I swapped back to my 16" stock wheels and tires for a while. Made a pretty big difference in ride quality...
The Belltech kit comes with hardware to realign the carrier bearing and eliminate any vibration due to misalignment. In the nine months I have been driving my truck lowered with Belltech, I haven't had a single vibration problem. What kit did you use to lower your truck?
The Belltech kit uses replacement struts on the front or replacement coilovers. Could put the stock absorbers on the rear but I think it would be a bit unbalanced with a tight front and soft rear.
