I thought the same thing when mine was new. Plenty of factors play into your mileage. Mostly you! Winter mine tanks hard when it’s below freezing. I do like to tap the skinny more than I should so that’s a factor for me. Last fill I did 20.5. I’ve had lows at 17 before. You change your driving style as gas gets more expensive too

I think these are the biggest factors in MPG:
  • Driving habits (i.e. - how much you mash the skinny pedal)
  • Winter vs summer blend gas (I typically lose about 2 MPG with winter blend)
  • Temperature (not sure about this one - or it could be the summer vs winter blend)
  • Quality of gas- the "top tier" really does make a difference with this engine - I've used non top tier gas and suffered MPG loss

Mine started to get "promised" numbers around 3500 miles IF I keep my foot out of it.

Go boost crazy or idle the crap out of it and it goes back to doodoo but when I am driving for mpg I am seeing the rated mpg in city and highway, even with the a/c on.

Take off the level and tires if you want it to get better.

OK got it, considering the mpg's are a disappointment (to me) i cant imagine they could get worse:( And while i like the idea of leveling and want to consider it, ehh maybe i rethink idk.

You need a few thousand miles to get an accurate picture. And use an app, don't trust the truck. Not only is it not accurate to begin with, it ignores fuel burned while running during a remote start. It doesn't start counting it until truck is started with the key or push button.

Yeah, I use Feulio to track actual fuel used vs miles driven.. Fill-ups with remote start (using scheduled starts) are 4-5 mpg off from truck; truck shows 18.5-19 mpg; actual is 14.5 to 15 mpg. Fill-ups without remote start match truck within .5 mpg. I've done this for three months and have the same result every time. So either the truck coincidentally has terrible on-road mpg during the same tanks as the remote starts or it's not counting remote start fuel burned.. And the drive is the same, gas station is the same. Only variable is the remote start.

I've never seen over 16 mpg avg on a tank of gas. I can see that it has the capability of doing better when I hit the freeway, but that's a small fraction of my daily driving. I tried 87 octane and 91 which is the highest I can get in Vegas. No change.

Opinion: I don't believe ford's estimate is accurate. For the tremor it was 19 city 19 hwy. I find some of the claims of 23+ hard to believe especially those running 285/70/17 and up. Its most likely someone resetting there MPG before a long stretch of flat on cruise control.

Anyways it's a truck and I'm gonna put bigger tires on it regardless. I came from jeeps I'm used to crappy gas milage.

Stock 2021 Tremor here. Picked up in November so all winter driving so far. Tanks have ranged between 19.5 and 21 mpg so far at 2700 miles on truck. Best mpg when cruising on 55 mph speed limit roads. Worst mpg traveling 70mph plus interstate speeds. All hand calculated. I don't do remote or scheduled starts, just jump in and go. 87 octane always used.

Lol again as I mentioned before it all depends on the setup and conditions. A leveles truck will not get as good MPG compared to a truck that still has Rake. Also tire weight is something to consider as well. The Firestone tires I ran on my Ranger were considerably lighter to the KO2 and the Grabber ATX in the same size and load range. A lot of things can affect MPG along with a tune too.

It's not even broke in yet so don't sweat it just yet. Give it a while and try and stay out of the boost if possible. That will kill your mpg fast! I have a 2.5" level and 265/70/17 tires and I'm averaging 22 mpg.
Dave beat me to it Aldolf. My biggest problem was learning how to drive a turbo vehicle. I found my problem was when starting from a stop I was putting my right foot into the turbo every time. When I learned the art of starting from a stop things got better. Give 'er some time, it should get better for you.
