I'm 700 miles in, and computer says 17.5 mpg. I do about 65 hwy/35 city driving. I got a leveling kit and running with 265/r17. Does it get better, or should I expect this. I thought I would be atkeast close to 20. Last fuel up, app told me I was getting 16.9.

I have a leveling plate and 1.5" spacers with 285/70r17 muds. I'm getting about 15.5mpg so i would say thats about what you would get. Prior to the new tires i was getting 19.8mpg.

It's not even broke in yet so don't sweat it just yet. Give it a while and try and stay out of the boost if possible. That will kill your mpg fast! I have a 2.5" level and 265/70/17 tires and I'm averaging 22 mpg.

Well sounds like there's hope. Compared to my last truck, 17. 5 is way better. I've read plenty of threads where guys like you are running the same setup as me and getting atleast 20mpg. I'll just ride it out and see where it goes from here. I don't go crazy on the pedal.

Same, I'm getting 22 mpg on rolling rural backroads with a light foot. Leveled and 265 too, 15k miles.

Remember to adjust your speedo for bigger tires otherwise your mpg will be artificially low.

This was going to be my question. Whether you've adjusted the computer to the new tire size.

Velosstech says you can get an extra 2mpg if you get their air ram scoop I think it looks cool to?‍♂

I have the same set up as you an this tank I'm at 18.8. I have my speedometer calibrated an the mpg is within .3 of my hand calculated results. It's been my experience that air temp reeks havoc on MGPs and a headwind kills it. When summer blend gas returns an temps are up to stay I expect over 20 unless I'm hammering it for fun.

Tires will make a pretty big difference. I took a hit when I replace the stock Hankooks (which I hated) with Toyo AT3s. I love the new tires - they are great at what I bought the truck for (FS roads, snow, etc), but they did make me take about a 2 MPG hit. I'm hoping when the summer gas comes back it will improve. That also takes about 2 MPG, in my experience.

The biggest thing is keeping your foot out of it. It is hard to resist the urge to spin up the turbo....

265(what?)17? People seem to forget about the middle number

Also the leveling kits have proven to not help with MPG.

Depending on setup and conditions along with the driving habits will always determine MPG. For example my 2019 had the Old Man EMU lift with 265/70-17 Bridgestone Dueler Revo 3's. I also had the Livernois tow tune. Depending on the conditions up here in the Colorado Rockies I was able to see an average of up to 27-28 MPG(no it wasnt every day). When I chamged to 285/70-17 Firestone Destination XT's I did see a drop but again there were some conditions that allowed me to get up to 24-26 MPG.

I posted the other day my results from a 2 day trip. I did 75 mph for the most part on the highway for just under 300 miles each way. On the way down it was 25 degrees when I left an my avg was 19.8 when I got there. I filled up, it was 64 degrees when I headed back an my mpg was 22.8. I think 23-24 would be possible with the cruise set at 75 with summer blend fuel an no headwind.
