They could call the new forum, "I paid $13,000 to get smoked by other Rangers with $450 tuner".

Really this thread is not helping the stereotype of Roush Ranger owners.
And saying things like that don’t make sense ? I didn’t buy a ROUSH to go fast …

It’s like the metaphor :

why have multiple types of M&M’s? No one likes the peanut ones or the peanut butter or the pretzel or the mint or dark chocolate… let’s just make the regular ole M&M’s from now on and everyone will be happy ?

Roush and tremor sections? You mean the bought not built club? Lol
Is that an issue?

So, like many others, I’m sitting here watching this thread wander a bit, blow up at times, get a little personal, have a few jokes thrown in, and take on a life of its own.

If there is a Roush Ranger sub-forum created, I wouldn’t think that it was a place solely for “Roush guys” to hang out and talk about their trucks. FYI - I don’t think that’s what the request was about either.

I would see it the same way I see the Tremor sub-forum; as a place for anyone visiting ranger5g to learn more about those models, options, mods, owner’s impressions, etc. I don’t think the Tremor sub forum is a members only club and I would feel the same way about a Roush sub forum as I do about this……..

…as a place to go to learn more about that.

Roush has been mostly appearance based for decades. Their Mustangs and F-150s too.

Yes they offer true performance packages and upgrades for the aforementioned vehicles. However, the majority of Roush vehicles you see on the road or at dealerships are not much more than a spoiler and graphics package.

For example

The 2019 Stage 1 Roush Mustang gets you this...

  • GT Performance Pack Wheels
  • Dual Black-Tip Performance Exhaust System
  • Aero Corner Pockets
  • High Flow Upper Grille with “1” Badge
  • High Flow Lower Opening
  • Front Chin Spoiler
  • Hood Heat Extractors
  • Body Side Scoop
  • Matte Black Side Stripe Graphics
  • Roush Fender Badges
  • Rear Blackout Panel
  • Body-Colored Rear Decklid Spoiler
  • Front Windshield Banner
  • Hood Strut Lift
  • Roush Floor Mats
  • Roush Illuminated Door Sill Plates
For the same $6700 it cost you can put together a COBB Stage 3 kit, full turboback, custom ProTuning, and a set of drag radials or street class AutoX tires. And have money left to take your wife out for a NICE dinner.

It's not that there's anything wrong with Roush stuff. Most of us gearheads just prefer function over form.

I like nice stuff too. It doesn't all have to be performance oriented for me. Creature comforts are great too. I stopped looking into Colorado Bisons because I wasn't going to pay $50,000 for a truck without even the options of keyless entry and LED headlights. Roush Rangers fall in the same category for me.

From reading your posts I don't think this stereotype applies to you.

But when I see anything Roush branded, I figure the person behind the wheel is an odd combination of redneck ricer, narcissist , and attention whore.

All rules have exceptions.
My thought process in this works too ..

I don’t like your truck and the money you paid for it … but, tell me this :

.. how many women prefer Louis over Target branded purses? Why even have different makes if it’s just a bag with a hole on top to put stuff in and close it.

.. why have a Nike store or shoe or hoodie? The local CVS, sells basic fruit of the loom hoodie .. why not get this hoodie instead?

it’s just an option … doesn’t mean I’m better cause I wear Nike or don’t want a 2 door, 2WD Ranger.

You can’t apply people buying what they want to only one aspect then those people asking for a forum or a place to chat about what they purchased. That’s all ?

I’m just gonna say one last thing and see if I can sneak on outta here and close the door.

I’ve had several conversations with Mack and can say with absolute certainty that this thread wasn’t started with an “our truck is better than yours so we need our own sub-forum” mentality.

The OP is a genuine fan of all Rangers, and from what I’ve seen and read he never once took a superior, antagonistic or confrontational stance anywhere in this thread.

I’m gonna bow out as gracefully as possible at this point…..unless I get sucked back in.

I think we kinda flew this plane into the side of a mountain. I say we all go home and no one tells the authorities.
I really appreciate you Matt.

You and I know I wasn’t trying to get this reaction .. apparently we are too prestige.

I think a lot of people (more so tremors probably since they are more common here) struggle to make that distinction on where to post things. 98% or 99% of the time, tremor and Roush questions still apply to other trim levels. It just makes it easy to miss information and leads to redundant questions. Personally, I love the look of Roush and tremors and would enjoy show off threads. Hell I almost traded in my truck for a tremor last month. Decided against it after coming to terms that the only "upgrade" I would get at this point is leather seats and hardwired switches instead of my wireless trigger system
I love that attitude.. it means you wanted to put hard work and blood in your truck and get it where you wanted and where you are happy …

Unfortunately, if someone ringed you about this all the time … you’d feel how us ROUSH guys feel when we just wanted a little different look… ?

There was a beautiful Lariat Ranger parked next to mine at Ralph’s 3 days ago. Have him a nod, he came and gave me a “nice truck…” that’s all we want :)

Exactly. Appreciate this. Someone gets me. I can die now. ???

What if someone in 5 years is looking to get rid of their current Ranger and wanna see what the ROUSH has to offer.. or the Raptor or whatever .. you get the point. Love it. People may not know what comes with what “trim” or package … it would be a good place to have fella Ranger look around and see if he wants something he doesn’t “know much about.”

My only other comment on sub forums is I don't go into them usually.
I don't go into the Tremor forum, because i don't have a Tremor. but i wonder how much i miss that isn't Tremor specific, but in a Tremor forum?

I've had my own posts moved from one place to another because i posted in the wrong one which is fine.

this is where the mods and admins have to step up and do their job.

if more sub forums are created, they have to work harder to keep the on-topic topics in the right forum and move those general ones out to the proper forums.

do they want that extra work?

I don't want their "laziness" (not a direct attack so don't get panties in a bunch) to affect my experience on Ranger5g. I'm here for the 5th generation Ranger as a whole, but if they allow subforums, they should be policing the content appropriately
Hi RP,

My take is that there are not enough Roush Rangers out there to justify a separate forum.

Best,
Phil

Almost every thread goes "off topic" at some point so I don't see that as a big deal. As long as there's no Roush bashing going on there shouldn't be all that much to do but delete or move a few posts.

I see both points for having and not having another sub forum. I really don't know if there are that many members who will benefit from this but if the Admin feels it's worthy of one I'm sure he'll add one. I don't have a Tremor but I do like going in the sub forum to see what they've done to theirs. Lumping them in with all the other general Ranger posts only makes those members work harder or ask repeated questions because they have to search for their answers. On the flip side those who don't care to read about Roush won't have to if they have their own dedicated section. ?

Phil has spoken and thus it should not be done.
And I agree with RP, I don't generally jump into the sub-forums. I just came by here to see the sh!t-show and contribute where appropriate.
Hmmm, @RANGER PRIDE RP, maybe we should jump into the sub-forums a little more often. We may be missing some good entertainment and opportunities to side-track the thread.

After reading through this entire thread I think the solution is simple. I agree another sub forum isn't needed. I feel like there are too many already. So I think other suggestions I read here to maybe just make a thread and perhaps call it, "The ROUSH Ranger Thread," makes sense and members interested can participate in relevant Roush Ranger discussions there.

I did get a bit of a chuckle out of some posts here where a simple suggestion got turned into an argument about Ranger owners trying to flex. Some of the replies reminded me of the Mandelbaum's in Seinfeld ?

At one point I thought I was going to have to call an emergency dentist to remove all the words some people were putting in other forum members mouths. :lipssealed:

So the too long didn't read: I think just making a ROUSH Ranger thread is the way to go. Thread title "The ROUSH Ranger Thread" with the opening post something like "This is the place to talk everything related to ROUSH Rangers and yes we think we are better than you." Okay the "and yes we think we are better than you," part is a is a joke don't kill me. :p

Exactly my point.

I'm not a woman. I don't care about any of that. I care about how something performs.

It's fine if you want your own Forum, what do I care? But you're getting pushback because of your arrogance.

Vurtually every single post you make here is reminding everybody that you have a "Roush Ranger." Nobody cares. It's just like the rest of them.

Just like a guy that constantly says "on my Lariat" when talking about things that pertain to all Rangers.

It's as though you are constantly trying to justify your purchase to us all the time. And again, we don't care. You may get ooohhhs and ahhhs from civilians, and that's fine, that's why you bought a Roush. But here, we really just don't care

Your XLT Ranger is just like all the rest of them, despite the fact Roush gussied it up a little for you.

Perception is a funny thing. You may not be an arrogant person. But your posts here certainly come off that way.

I garuantee that a minimum of 90% of your posts mention the fact that you have a Roush Ranger.

I think the admin should give you your subforum.

IF you can go 3 months here without posting the word Roush.
