Since new and regardless of the Ford Performance tune installed this has frustrated me since buying my Ranger. I've tried everything to resolve this issue and have been told this is normal until engine is warmed up. I've never had an issue before with any of my Fords in the past. My last vehicle was a Fusion Titanium with the 2.0 turbo with the tune and that car ran great all the time, never had a issue like this. Along with the fuel in the oil issue, I'm thinking I should have bought the Explorer ST

can you itemise "everything" you have done

otherwise this is just a rant post where no one can help you other than throwing random darts at a board hoping for a bullseye.
Ford Performance tune, Roush cold air intake, running 93 octane gas, new fuel pump, injectors and colder plugs done by dealer to try and resolve issues. Also installed catch can.

I hate that you are having this problem. Your Ranger is one of my very favorites. I hope you are able to get this resolved so you can enjoy it more. :)

I know I'm complaining to an issue thats only for the first few miles of driving. It does clear up and drives fine, just driving me crazy that I can't figure out whats the problem.

Was it doing this before adding any of the mods? I ask because if I don't let my engine warm up enough in the morning or after it's been sitting a long time it will do this too. I wait until the rpm's drop down and this usually helps but it will still run sluggish for the first couple minutes, especially now that it's colder out. Taking off it will sound rough and loud like a school bus taking off but will smooth out after about a mile or so.

Same as @AzScorpion . Runs a little rough in the morning, especially when colder which for here is Oct.-April. Worse if I don't give it 30 seconds or so before I pull out of the drive. I usually just idle out of the drive to the stop sign a few houses down. I give it a little gas as I turn onto the next street and it gets better as I go further and by the time I'm out of my development, its running fine. If I give it too much gas, sometimes it will shift hard too. Never happens in the summer. Except for the school bus sound. That happens for the first 30 seconds or so of driving year round.

@myothercarizahearse Dave, Thanks for the link! Trying to remember but I think I had the Ranger to the dealer for an oil change and to check out the problem before that TSB came out. I'm due for the seatbelt recall and will have them check out the rough idle and hard shifts.

Colder plugs do not help a cold start situation, they are for helping a hot chamber, not a cold one, they are not the cause of your problem, but they may make it a little worse.
