So TLDR on most of the posts (sorry) but I must report that the sirius now BUFFERS between stations on this install. When you are on the phone it won't (our Honda infotainment system does) but regardless this is cool. Now you can switch from station to station and you won't be coming into the song half done now.

:)

I can find a couple of files to update from, but the Ranger won't stay on long enough to finish the download. Is there a way to keep the Acc switch on without turning on the ignition?
Somewhere in this thread a member mentioned that Ford limits the downloads. I don't leave the ACC on. I just wake it up by turning it to ACC and back to off. I then check for updates and it starts to download a file. I come back later and repeat the process. I've done it IIRC 8 times now. There might be a better, faster way but this seems to be working for me. The good thing is everything seemed to be working when I used the truck yesterday.

Yup, that's what I've been doing... I have a low-amp battery charger connected as well just so I don't draw the battery down too much... I think I'm on day 5 now lol

Hey thanks...I'll try that.

Oh well... I turned the Acc on (by the start button), hit it again to turn it off...the Ranger turned everything off. Maybe it's a model thing that won't work as yours does.

Another member corrected me. I can wake up the radio by only pushing the radio power button. I didn't need the key at all (I have an XLT.) I just tried it and it worked.

Then that may be the difference...I have the Lariat with the start button.
These things should not be that hard. The Ranger may be a great truck, but only as good as the maintenance. This is a disappointment. How hard can it be to allow for WiFi upgrades. These are the things that I look for when I rebuy.

I don't disagree. The USB option is how I finally finished it, but I had to jump through a few hoops. Having the car running for over an hour isn't ideal, particularly if like me the engine isn't broken in yet. And, having to restart the ACC everything 30 minutes using wifi is weak, to say the least.

That is exactly my point.
We put guys on the moon in the 60z, probably Mars in the near future...and we can't keep our trucks running in the best condition - on Earth.

Yeah, it won't keep me from buying another, but it's still a shame. But, I work in IT and can handle it. Those less tech savvy I'm sure would find it challenging. But, then again, perhaps they wouldn't even be worried to upgrade at all.
