For real? Weird. I get out of my truck everyday to open the garage door, leaving the truck running, and ours never honks?

It doesn't honk if you get out and leave the door opened. It only honks if you get out and close the door

Do you have the key on you? Mine only honks if I have the key on my person (simulating a situation where someone might "accidentally" leave the vehicle running)

Nope. We have an XL, keys in the ignition.

Wait a minute. How did you lock the door in the first place with the fob inside? Did you used ford pass to lock it? Because if you did not then your ride was unlocked with a fob to start while you were in the pharmacy. Tisk, tisk

Uh, Not if the fob is inside it would not. And he never said anything about a keypad use (option on Lariat). So no you can not just push the button, well you can push it but it will not lock.

I bought my Lariat in April 2019 and have never really had a complaint that got my blood pressure up till today.

Made a trip to the pharmacy this evening. When I went inside I left the FOB and keys laying on the console. Because this vehicle heats up so slowly while inside I used Ford Pass to start it hoping that in 5 minutes it could get the coolant up to a temp of at least 32 degrees. As a pleasant surprise Ford Pass worked this time and it started.

But, as I got to the truck and pulled on the door handle the vehicle stabbed me in the back. The door would not unlock. The truck does not have the keypad on the door and I was locked out.

Started calling friends to come and get me, but realized that there is an unlock feature in Ford Pass. And OMG, Ford Pass worked 2 times in a row.

I have never had a problem with app.

I lock my FOB in everytime I go surfing...with the Lock button on the driver's side door and use the keypad to unlock upon return.

Yep. Same thing happens with my mustang. If I have the fob in my pocket, and drop the kid off at day care, damn car honks at me every time I shut the door haha. One of these days I'll forscan it.

If you have the Securicode door pad, you can lock/unlock the door with the key fob inside with the vehicle running.

You can use a Faraday Bag for the fob while it's inside the truck, this will block the RFID signal. Then use the Fordpass app to lock/unlock.

There is an option for “mislock” in the vehicle settings option, on the left productivity screen. This will prevent locking yourself out with the fob inside the truck.

That's the thing about the Ranger - you don't need a bag like that, if you lock the doors using the app. It's smart enough to allow it because it knows you can use the app again to get back in.
