Things I saw at the dealership today.

Killing time getting a couple of parts that were part of the purchase agreement today, and getting my hood adjusted. At this dealership there is a Ford Garage located 100 ft from the service dept, and I got sucked in for a pork bbq sandwich. I kinda liked the utensil clamp. Afterwards checked out a couple of 2021 Rangers, and the rapid red metallic looked great in the sunlight. As did the velocity blue.
I might have to make a bench like this for area by front door.

Now we know what there are doing with all the stolen tailgates.

On the way out saw this getting off loaded....for you FX2 folks I wasn’t impressed by the front fake skid plate?

That’s not a skid plate, it’s a mud flap and I’ll bet good money it’s plastic.

But the amount of trust the bottle holder is required to have that the driver is in reverse and not drive, is beyond my comprehension.

It's just the dealer finance mgr...with the picture operating manual?

naw...she's firmly fastened with high quality screws.

but i look at this diagram, and ask....does it look backwards from the install on that truck???

This to me looks like the real full skid plate. The one on the truck in photo is cut off straight across just behind the louvers.

Yep that diagram is for the "real" skid plate. Photo below is our FX4

I assure you, I know the difference between the two. ?

I’m referring to the truncated skid plate as a “mud flap” because that’s the only protection it could possibly offer. And I agree, in no time, it will be seen flapping around in the wind underneath the truck like the air dam on just about every taxi in town.

It really for aerodynamics, it increases fuel mileage.

I was at the dealer today and saw a Rapid Red 5.0 Mustang GT that was calling out to me....lol.
I was shocked that the sticker on the window of that Mustang was only $1K more than a Lariat Metallic Ranger. That was after all the nano coatings and upgrades to both. Doesn't seem right that a Ranger mid-sized pickup would be just a bit less than a 460 HP muscle car....hmmm.

Get both! My wife thought I was nuts when I told her I was trading in my f150 for a mustang. The kids fit fine in the back (for now), gets good mileage, and is a hoot to drive. In the winter or when I need more room, I now have the ranger. Life's too short to drive boring vehicles.

yup, that's the fx2 appearance package. I really don't know why ford did that--could they be saving money designing, manufacturing, and dealing with the manufacturing logistics of a fake skid plate vs just installing the real one?
