Just updated to Sync 3.4 on my Ranger 2019

I got mine to update on my 2019, but the process was tedious and not ideal -- see my experiences in the post linked below. The new software feels snappier, and I really like the aesthetic changes as well.

I even tried 3rd party extractors and it didn't work. So glad I kept the old windows box around ?
I updated from 3.3 so its a big difference

I didn't try it on my Mac because I'd played that game previously with Sync updates.

I just opened this one with the free The Unarchiver (App Store) and it correctly created the file and folder structure.

I didn't use it do the update but I was just curious how it would extract.

Stuffit also messes up the folder structure on a Mac.

Updates to previous post:
Did not have to re-pair phone, it kept mine and my wifes phone pairing.
Everything looks good kept flash screen and theme.
Looked at available themes in Test Settings. Looks like some were added. Ford themes are still that horrid blue. Think I'll keep my Lincoln theme for now.
I will need to see if anything changed in Forscan.

I used syn3 updater to update to 3.4.20282 today. No issues installing. Climate controls are back. Apple Carplay still kinda sucky. Still just randomly stops playing music and says 'live streaming', even though I have the music downloaded to my phone. The other issue I have been having is that it doesn't show the phone is connected right away. Only had a couple of drives so far but it just randomly would not acknowledge that the phone was plugged in until 10 minutes or more into the drive. When this happens, it won't even charge the phone, like the usb ports are not even active. Will have to see if the issue of not showing all the albums under an artist and the 'prompt volume' issue are gone.

My 2019 XLT is one a month old. Best I could tell, it had never updated to Sync 3.4, despite setting up the wi-if on day one and it sitting in my driveway for a month.Trying to manually ‘Scan for Update’ did nothing.

So I tried the USB route. Success! But, here are my lessons learned:
- Apple Mac and the zip file expander StuffIt didnt work. Tried four times. Not fun. Use a PC and you’ll likely avoid that headache.
- it does take about 20 mins. Leavethe truck running and dont touch the dashboard at all.

alright so I DO NOT recommend try to update via usb on a Mac.
I tried everything I could for a few hours trying to update and it kept giving me
Error Code: LST_ERR05.. After a few hours I dusted off my old Windows laptop
and literally took like 20min no problems at all. Ole Saltyboii is now running SYNC3 v3.4.20282
from ford not some sketchy shit ?

Had the exact same experience.
Avoid using Mac. Use a PC.

Just did the update to 3.4.

Took about 30 minutes. Didn't need to re-pair phone.

Probably pulled USB too soon. There is a key cycle in the middle of the install before it completes and writes the file. Some have reported reinserting the USB and having it write the file. Ford should have had the notice stick instead of disappearing after a few seconds.

I used WinZip with my MacBook and i was able to update my Ranger AND GOT MY CLIMATE CONTROLS BACK!! Updating took about 25 min. Winzip only added SyncMyRide Folder and its files. I had to go back and add autoinstall.lst and then again add DONTINDX.MSA. After I done this by trial and error I was able to update my truck. I am not a techie & this was by trial and error. Remember to name your thumb drive " SyncMyRide " and format your thumb drive to ExFat. After the update was complete a note popped up on screen saying I can remove the thumb drive and updates will take place once I restart the truck.

I used "The Unarchiver" on my MacBook Pro a bit ago, and it worked great to format things correctly to the USB. Just got the update done ... had the same struggles before.

Now that 3.4 is installed, I'm currently updating to the new map that became available in October ... hopefully that works as well!

Got the map install to work as well ... glad to be done with all these USB transfers/updates -- what a PITA.

Updated last night seems ok. I like The SXM interface better as I now get more channels and it is easier to move through my presets. Still trying to figure out the wireless apps which have been hit or miss. One Issue today was where my phone did not connect via Bluetooth to play what I was streaming, synch showed the phone as connected, but would not synch.
