I used syn3 updater to update to 3.4.20282 today. No issues installing. Climate controls are back. Apple Carplay still kinda sucky. Still just randomly stops playing music and says 'live streaming', even though I have the music downloaded to my phone. The other issue I have been having is that it doesn't show the phone is connected right away. Only had a couple of drives so far but it just randomly would not acknowledge that the phone was plugged in until 10 minutes or more into the drive. When this happens, it won't even charge the phone, like the usb ports are not even active. Will have to see if the issue of not showing all the albums under an artist and the 'prompt volume' issue are gone.
Sounds like I'm a gonna wait and see how everyone is feeling about this update. My build 3.4 20136 seems to be working ok right now. I'll be interested to hear if folks doing the upgrade through Ford have the same issues. Should be very telling about any differences between the Sync3updater files and the Ford factory files.

Have you tried using another cable? There's been a major revelation with Android Auto that most issues people run into are cable-related.

So many different cables. From genuine apple ones to generic ones to high quality non apple ones. Same issue each time. It happened with my iphone 11, now with my iphone 12 pro and also does it with my business phone which is an iphone 7. All phones work perfectly fine with the same cables in our Honda Passport. Have never had any issues with the Honda Carplay implementation. I have quite a bit of running around to do tomorrow so I will have a good idea if these issues are still happening after that.

Here's @UofMEngineer in another thread. The new 3.4 has been released! It's not showing for me yet, but I'm assuming that it will show in the next week or so.

Here's that thread: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/ford-officially-releases-sync-3-v3-4-build-20282.10431/page-1
Updating this one once again. Ford pulled 3.4.20282 last week and it's now live once again. When entering my VIN to Ford's website, I finally have the ability to download the update. I'm not home now but I'll install it when I get back.

Yep. Update just showed up as available for me, too. Downloading now. Not doing anything else today, so I might just decide to be a test dummy for it.

Yeah, just finished downloading and preparing USB drive. Will install later and report back. Need to help wife finish dishes first. :like:

Just finished updating. Yeah simple fast update, just one key cycle before it finished. everything looks good, just have to re-pair phone. Mine did create an XML file in the SYNCmyride folder on the USB stick. uploaded to Ford, we'll see how long it takes for them to update their database. have to play with it and see if they did anything with themes and flash screens, mine did come back just how I had it.

Exactly how mine went. Screen themes look the same to me. Seems like voice works better. Pandora worked fine on Bluetooth. Had to repair phone.

Ditto to the previous 2 posters. No issues and about 18 minute install for me. Uploaded xml file and got a green check mark afterwards but subsequent check says an upload is available. I suspect it will take several days for the upload to get to the dbase . I went from 3.4.20136 to 3.4.20282

THEY FINALLY RELEASED IT!!!!
alright so I DO NOT recommend try to update via usb on a Mac.
I tried everything I could for a few hours trying to update and it kept giving me
Error Code: LST_ERR05.. After a few hours I dusted off my old Windows laptop
and literally took like 20min no problems at all. Ole Saltyboii is now running SYNC3 v3.4.20282
from ford not some sketchy shit ?

The built-in Zip extract utility on a Mac will nuke the folder structure when you use it.

You will have to use a 3rd party extraction utility on a Mac.

Or dust off the Windoze box.

I have a Win10 NUC that is running as my media server that comes in handy for Sync updates.

Anything new or also updated in the new rev 20282 other than the Climate Control fix?

Maybe it's just me but it does seem snappier.

I didn't see any other changes, and I didn't have to re-pair my phone on mine.

I even tried 3rd party extractors and it didn't work. So glad I kept the old windows box around ?
I updated from 3.3 so its a big difference
