Hi Moto,

You should elevate this beyond the dealer by calling Ford Customer Care and getting this into their system as they will give you a number. Then, if you can, find another dealer. The dealer is not Ford...but a franchisee. You need a Ford problem ticket and a demand to have a Ford Field Service employee investigate this concern....Certainly, something is wrong if the truck is making oil...

Good Luck

Thanks for the advice. To be honest the dealer has been treating me well so far, except for not offering a loaner vehicle. I will give them a chance and hopefully they can figure it out. I just hope that the life of my engine hasn't been shortened by all this.

Just got a call from the dealer, he said Ford told them what to check on the PVC system and mine checked out ok. They want to keep the truck for today and tomorrow, and they are going to change the high pressure fuel pump. They had to order the fuel pump. Mine has got so bad they don't want me driving it till it's changed. And their guy who drives to pick up cars for them is going to put some miles on it after it's fixed to make sure it's ok. Hope that's it, they tell me they think that is the problem!!!
That's awesome!!! Heck, I'll fly out there to buy my next vehicle based on that level of service. I'm so glad someone has gotten their dealership to take the issue seriously!

Thanks, if I lived there they would have my business.

My dealer also did an oil change at 365 miles (under warranty) and they marked the dip stick. I drove it 280 miles the next day and the oil level after that trip is still at the paint mark. I am hopeful that it remains stable at the paint mark.
Update: My new 2020 Ranger is now at 840 miles. During the first 365 miles the oil level rose from slightly above the dip stick hash marks to well above the top hole. After the dealer performed the warranty oil change at 365 miles I have had zero rise in oil level for the last 475 miles. It seems to have temporarily (or permanently) stopped manufacturing oil. I am feeling better but will be checking it frequently until I am confident it is stable.

I'm thinking there may be multiple things in play that some forum members are experiencing. Some of us seem to be seeing a rise in oil level during the break in period that subsequently stabilizes. Others, like Jim, seem to have defective parts (e.g. high pressure fuel pump) that are coming into play.

Well back from the dealer. Waiting on Ford Engineers to call back to tell them what to do. ????. But they did give me a Ranger to drive in the meantime. I’m amazed at how going from Black to Red make the truck feel smaller. Will let you know what I find out when I get more info.

I know im responding to my own post. But some might find this interesting. Got this loner while mine is in the shop and curiouity got the better of me. Yes i checked the oil. ? and it is just passed the top hole in the stick. Only 71 miles on it and a 2020 engine build was Dec 2019. So it might just be the break in period, but mine didn't get that high till over 700 mile mark. Wow!

Yeah it's weird and mine didn't get high until over 7,000 miles. I don't understand how their are different scenarios with this whole thing!!

I know, I'm hoping your last trip in for service fixed yours. It will give me hope. Got 7 year/ 70000 on the powertrain due to a deal i worked out when i purchased it. So hopefully it will work out with no long term issues from it. Wonder if anyone still has the issue after the 10,000 mile mark. Well just waiting to hear back to see what they do with mine. Service was pretty adamant it is a issue that needs to be fixed. He did tell me that Ford has not put anything out there about it, no notices or tsb yet. Hopfully they do the same procedure to my truck then i will make me feel like Ford knows and is working on it.

Yeah hopefully it's not a design flaw!

Yes interesting, the new vehicles that I've purchased always were gone over by the dealer. They had a check list that came from the manufacturer (a pre delivery service manual) When I bought my first new 1986 Ford regular cab F150 4 wheel drive heavy duty suspension . I also bought the 1986 F series service manual I think I paid 40 bucks for, it also came with the smaller pre delivery service manual. Makes me wonder what dealers are doing now.

Well got the call back today. They are borescoping the engine for Internal fuel leakage, and doing leak test, if they don’t see anything, have been told by Ford to replace the HPFuel Pump. Makes me fell better that the dealer is really trying, ???? Hope this works.

I had not heard from the dealership and it has been over 2 weeks since they took an oil sample, so I called them to find out what's up. The guy I spoke to said they received the sample results and that the fuel dilution was high but he couldn't tell me a number because he didn't have it in front of him. I wonder why they didn't call me? Anyway, since I was in there 2 weeks ago this past Friday, I changed my oil yet again and this time I only added 5.5 qts, just enough to get it above the minimum mark (hole). Now with only 298 miles since that oil change, the level is just above the maximum mark (hole), checked cold in the morning before leaving for work, . I have another appointment this coming Friday and they said they can't give me a loaner because of the whole COVID thing. I live alone and this is my only running vehicle right now, so I will need to sit there and wait while they diagnose the issue, which they said could take a while. For reference, the truck has 14.812 miles on it now and the problem only started within the last 1500 miles or so and seems to be getting worse. I live in the sticks, so no short trips, and I do not use the auto start/stop feature. Truck runs great otherwise and I see no issues driving wise. This sucks, I hope this doesn't show up as severe problems down the road, after the warranty expires.
Just got back from the dealership. As I sat around waiting in the customer lounge for a couple hours, I was thinking they were doing multiple checks to figure out the issue. Wrong! They did not do anything. The service manager came and got me and said Ford wouldn't open a ticket because I do my own oil changes and that I would have to have the dealership do the oil change, they would mark the dipstick and check it after 2000 miles to see if the level had risen. I told him that was far too long of an interval and that the last 2 oil changes were done at 700 & 500 miles because it was overfull. I told him I would be back in a week and that is all it would take. We'll see what they do then. I did ask them what was the purpose of sending out an oil sample in the first place as that just had me driving around for 3 weeks with diluted oil, they should have done the oil change and started this BS earlier. As much as I like the truck otherwise, I am really starting to regret this purchase.

They changed mine marked the stick and told me bring it back in 500 miles. Mine had gotten so bad I was back in 60 miles already with the oil above the upper hole. They changed the High Pressure Fuel Pump today and their keeping the truck to put 85 miles on it to monitor it, hopefully it checked out ok!!

Keep us posted, I am really curious if that is the culprit.
