Just updated to Sync 3.4 on my Ranger 2019

I'm even more confused now, sadly.
So, i need to download the 318 and 319 files somewhere else first?
And then I copy them somewhere on the flash drive to include them in the install?
Or Do I need another way to install them separately ?
I assumed I needed to install 19101 first because the 20021 file say it's a 3.4.xxx to 20021 file.
Didn't think i could go from 3.3 to that one

I assumed I didn't need voice packs because the Cyan site says:
"This step is not required for NA navigation, NA navigation is included in the Sync_3.4.19101_NA_Base_WithNav_CYANLABS.zip file. "
If you have Sync 3.2+ you can install the Cyanlabs update file to 20021, but that will not have the necessary Voice Command file 5U5T-14G391-CL.

You could either install the 3.4.xxx to 20021 file and then create a single file installer USB to install 5U5T-14G391-CL or you could merge the installs into one by adding the 5U5T-14G391-CL file into the SyncMyRide directory and adding another file entry to the autoinstall.lst

I find it easier to merge them into one autoinstall.lst. Extract the 3.4.xxx to 20021 zip to your USB, then copy the missing 5U5T-14G391-CL file to the SyncMyRide folder. Then edit the autoinstall.lst to add the new file like:

The voice packs I am guessing are only for the NAV models? My sync in non-nav and I didn’t need the voicepack, haven’t encountered any issue yet.
Nope. All modules have a core voice package (see above). The key for v3.4 NA releases is:

-Bx = Non-Nav Non-EU (Yours)
-Cx = Nav NA

The x is the version indicator. The main difference is the languages contained in each. -Bx contains more. -Cx contains only US English, Mexican Spanish and Canadian French. You can use a -Cx on a Non-Nav unit without issue as it contains all languages for NA anyway. Many used that to get around the problems of MEM_ERR03 on older software updates.

I came back and installed the 391 file after the 381 and it seemed to work.

At current pace, COVID-19 is gonna get to where I am way before the official Sync 3.4 release :LOL:

Whats the driving force behind so many trying to force the update, before it is officially baked and released? I understand those that had an issue created from earlier update issues and are trying to resolve an issue but the risk for most far outweighs the benefit. Cutting edge is usually bleeding edge.

I have personally been involved in hundreds of thousands of remote and physical software updates and know you don't attempt these types of events unless you have a real and pressing problem.

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's enthusiasm but would caution the casual hobbyist to avoid heartache.

You can, but they will charge you 40$ for the USB stick, and whatever their hourly rate is for roughly an hour labor.

No. There is no officially released update for v3.2/v3.3 -> v3.4 as of yet. So, a dealer should not do that.

No. There is no officially released update for v3.2/v3.3 -> v3.4 as of yet. So, a dealer should not do that.
Yea, today my dealer said they don't do them as they don't get updates before customers do and it's all online now.
