The first year they were available in the Falcon was in 1963...the 260 ci. V-8, available in the Sprint and Futura. !964 had the 260 as an option in the Furura, and in general in all the models, with a 2 bbl carb. The Sprint was standard with the 260 V-8 with a 4 bbl carb, 2 speed auto or 4 speed, and dual exhaust . The 1965 models, jumped to the 289 V-8, with a 4 bbl version in the Sprint. The next series, the 3 rd model, starting in 1966 has a 289, but in 1968 they went with the 302.
No sadly in Australia the biggest engine you could get until late 66/ early 67 was the 3.6 litre i6. When the V8 came available it was the 289 from the Mustang.

The best one to buy was the 1971 / 2 Falcon GTHO, they were basically Ford factory built race cars built to run in the Bathurst 1000 race. To pass homologation they had to sell at least 250 cars to the public as in those days Bathurst was technically a road race. They actually sold quite a lot.
351 Cleveland engine, about 380 Hp and capable of over 140 MPH, reworked rear suspension with sway bars and tramp rods and a stock 36 gallon fuel tank. They were possibly the fastest stock 4 door street cars in the world at the time. They sold for about $6,000 Aud back in 1972. A good one in in concourse condition is now worth about 250 - 300 K.

I'm 31.

If it's considered a "Ford", my first was a 2000 mercury cougar V6. Otherwise, my real first ford would be a 2007 focus zx5 with the factory bodykit appearance package. I learned to drive on my father's 1994 F150.

My 2022 ranger is my 4th ford vehicle.

I’m 40.
My first Ford was my first car. 1988 Thunderbird 5.0L. (Wish I had a pic) I learned to drive in a Pontiac Bonneville, and stick shift in an older Volkswagen Beetle.

Fords I’ve owned: 1995 Probe SE, 2005 Mustang GT, 2016 Mustang GT, 2019 Mustang GT.
Still own: 1986 Mustang GT and the 2020 Ranger XLT

My first Ford was a '57 wagon, it was my plumbing service truck. My dad had a plumbing business and I did most of the night and weekend drain cleaning and repair work when I was in high school. I also had a 998 Mini Cooper.

I haven't thought about that wagon in along time, it used to backfire through the carb once in a while and catch fire, otherwise it as a great car. I never cared much for plumbing but it's been a handy skill to have. When I went to college I got free rent and utilities to convert a carriage house into an apartment behind a mansion turned into a women's rooming house (and act as the resident handyman). That's where I meet my wife , I snaked out the kitchen sink on her floor with my homemade electric drain cleaning machine. She asked where I got it and I said I made it in high school shop. I don't know if it was me or the electric snake but it was definitely love at first sight. We've been married for 45 years!

Since I was born in 65 my dad worked at Ford Tractor. He always had Ford company trucks, and he'd get deals for new ford's , so we always had ford's. I remember clearly the LTD and the Pinto Station Wagon with the vinyl woody package. I learned to drive on a Ford Jubilee when I was in 4th grade. Plowing and Discing.
I think by 10 I could drive. And by 6th grade dad would let me drive the back roads to town and back. After my parents divorced, my dad moved to Oregon and I'd stay with him during the summers and work. During summer vacation before I was to go back to California to do 11th grade, my dad said he wasn't going to pay me for working with him all summer, but instead the money was going towards a truck for me. He wanted me to get a Ford of course. I wanted a 67-72 C10.
We looked and looked. One week before it was time to go back down to Cali, we saw a 65 C10 in the Nickleads that we went to look at. I fell in love with it at first site. That was my first vehicle I owned myself.

69 Mach 1 428 mustang (High School)
I wanted a 69 or 70 fastback so bad in 10th grade. I'd almost start crying when I'd see one. My cruising buddy had 67 fastback with a 351. Is it okay to say in these forums Chick Magnet? :)

Chick magnet possibly, but in my high school during the mid-70's (I'm old) it was one of many muscle cars of the period. My highschool acually had a 1/4 drag strip along the school.
I wish I kept the stang, would have been nice to have in the garage. But I'm not alone regretting selling these examples of the era.
