Dont you wish you still had that Falcon! I've never seen one like your. Always 6 cyl. My friends dad had the Falcon body Ranchero with 289 and 4 on the floor. Wish I had it.
YES !!! Whenever I go to a car show or cruise in and I see one, I automatically think of it, and how I would like to find one now to restore.
Then common sense kicks in and I realize, at my age, I just don't have the "ooomph" to get back into restorations.

My first Ford was a 1969 Capri ( UK import) sorry I ever sold it. I learned to drive in a Rambler Classic station wagon with the 290 V8 belonging to my father.
Was your Capri with the v6? Those were good little engines, 60 degree V6, always wanted one...I had a Pinto, actually 2 of them, both with the 2.0 which was also an import engine built in Cologne Germany. Pinto's got a bad rap but I drove the piss out of mine and it always ran. 150K when I sold it.
Ford Cortina was the car I was trying to remember, 1600 CC Kent, car was an import.

No it was 1600 CC Kent 4 banger. I was always amazed how much power Ford extracted from a simple cast iron push rod engine. They were legendary little engines and super reliable. In all the time I had mine, and I used it well, I only replaced filters, oil, spark plugs etc, a set of alternator bearings, and a timing chain, because the tic annoyed me. I always wanted to fit a Ford lotus twin cam 1600 from the RS Escort as they used the same block and and pretty much a drop in replacement. But I was a full time uni student at the time and never had the cash or time.

im old...
first thing i ever drove was a international farmall tractor. first ford i ever drove was a 89 lincoln continental. went on to drive several different f series trucks a few mustangs and rangers one of the old blue ford tractors with the little diesel engine. great tractor but no cab or ac like the new fancy ones. i think my favorite ford ive ever owned was a 2016 mustang gt, race red with the blinker / breather hood. got it as soon as the 16s came out in 2015. favorite ford to drive was a 1991 f350 4 door diesel. slowest dang truck but we put some hard work miles on that thing.

I never had the chance to explore these engines, there was a small car, which the name escapes me, that was available here in the 60's which had 1600 in it. Good little motors.

Age , old guy, 62 Galaxy Wagon, wrecked 2 weeks later when my girlfriend decided to show me her panties while driving… A few days later I saw more… ended up in a 4 year relationship…
well if you have to crash due to distracted driving id rather have the naughty girl friend be the issue instead of cell phone.

The V8's were not available here on the local Falcon version until about 67 but you could order a special then just like that setup. Back in the day when most cars were ordered not bought off the lot. Guess we've come full circle.

The first year they were available in the Falcon was in 1963...the 260 ci. V-8, available in the Sprint and Futura. !964 had the 260 as an option in the Furura, and in general in all the models, with a 2 bbl carb. The Sprint was standard with the 260 V-8 with a 4 bbl carb, 2 speed auto or 4 speed, and dual exhaust . The 1965 models, jumped to the 289 V-8, with a 4 bbl version in the Sprint. The next series, the 3 rd model, starting in 1966 has a 289, but in 1968 they went with the 302.
