So is the black end connected at the top or bottom? Likely something tells you like on the stock shock.

Hopefully that helps

Black end towards the top, the body towards the ground. So is the black end connected at the top or bottom? Likely something tells you like on the stock shock.

Thanks, I get it now, the black part is a dust cover that covers the narrower cylinder arm.Black end towards the top, the body towards the ground.
Your springs support the weight. Not the shocks. The new Eibach shocks are expected to arrive tomorrow. I am pretty sure of the answer, but just wanted to ask it to be 100% sure. When I remove the old shocks, the truck does not move down at all?
Did you get this one, E60-35-048-01-01, if so the best price I can find is $109.16 w/free S&H, did you do better, and if so where, inquiring minds and all that? The Eibach shocks finally arrived. I have a guy that will install them for $55. I have a lot going on, so I am taking the easy way out and having him install them.
I have heard so much good about them, my expectations are high.
Yes that is what I got. I got it from a Canadian Company so price comparison isn’t really relative, but they were about $140 Cdn from Tdot.Did you get this one, E60-35-048-01-01, if so the best price I can find is $109.16 w/free S&H, did you do better, and if so where, inquiring minds and all that?
When we traveled in Canada we loved everything except the prices! WOW you guys pay a lot!Yes that is what I got. I got it from a Canadian Company so price comparison isn’t really relative, but they were about $140 Cdn from Tdot.
Yeah, the rear replacement shocks totally change the truck. I can't believe there are people unwilling to do this simple upgrade to vastly improve the ride. $55 is very fair for the install. I did my Fox rear install myself, but for $55, I might have outsourced it just for the time back.I had high expectations for the new Eibach rear shocks. I had expected them to improve my sex life, add a large sum of money inmy bank account, improve the fishing, start the sap running in the maple trees while it is still easy to walk to them, and improve the performance in my Ranger.
None of those happened except the improvement in the trucks performance. It did not only meet my expectations, it exceeded them. The instant I got into the truck, I could feel the difference in how it sat. I had hoped for an improved quality of ride, but was surprised with the cornering difference. I am very, very pleased.
Now to get a 100% pass, my wife has to ride in the rear seats and notice an improvement. Perhaps if the ride is good enough, I will see an improvement in my sex life!
Sometimes when I first start up the truck, it makes a loud roar for the first short while and then disappears. Several Rangers I test drove did that. I just thought it was something it was designed to do for whatever inexplicable reason. Is that part of the fake engine noise?Yeah, the rear replacement shocks totally change the truck. If you want another similar wow upgrade, disable the fake cabin engine noise. My truck rides quieter on the freeway than other vehicles in my household now![]()

I believe that might be it or it’s just the cold start of the engine/exhaust. Especially if you have an upgraded exhaust. Forscan I know for sure you can disable it but I think you can do it in the regular settings.. not entirely sure..Sometimes when I first start up the truck, it makes a loud roar for the first short while and then disappears. How would one go about disabling the noise? I no longer need to be impressed by it.
The roar is from the mechanically driven engine cooling fan. For some reason Ford decided that it should be engaged on start-up. No way to stop it except drive for a few miles.Sometimes when I first start up the truck, it makes a loud roar for the first short while and then disappears. Several Rangers I test drove did that.
