Why Is The Mileage So Bad On The Tremor?

I’m on my second gas tank of 93 and it says 15.2mpg after the end of the first tank.

Mine isn't a Tremor but the bad gas mileage is directly related to my right foot. Drive for mpg; it's not bad for a truck! Wake the turbo up.. and the average mpg drops like a rock.

I like having the option of good mpg or power. Unlike a bigger engine that would just need more gas under not arsehole driving.

93 daily tune with the performance tune it gets worse.

I need some towing mirrors because everywhere I go I'm hauling ass!!

I am unsure how everyone is seeing bad MPG like that. I have a Lariat Tremor with ARB Skids and Shrockworks Rock rails (easily added 75lbs of steel to the truck) and I don't see anything less then 18 city and 21.5 highway. Most trips on the highway I am seeing 22.5-23.

Yea I never ever got what the sticker says. I drove it stock for a year and never got more than 19.
I have 33's, 2 spares in the bed and 200 lbs of sandbags in the bed and a widebody kit and well that's why I have bad mpg's but it's a number I can live with. I do get it if you are trying to max the mpg's but that's what I have.

Aerodynamics, chonky tires, extra weight, and driving style. Check out the ZR2, its EPA rating is even worse lol. Ranger suffers from a class-worst fuel tank size, which is a bummer. Everyone else offers 20-21.x gallon tanks.

I am quite happy being able to get 400 miles on a trip. Don't see any need for a bigger tank.

When I filled up yesterday I had 1/4 of a tank left and had only gone some 160 odd miles. I wish 400…

I drive almost 80 miles a day. 20-23 gallons would be the sweet spot for me.

Yea I want to install this fuel cell in the bed over the rear axle or behind it by this summer.

My stock tremor has gotten the same mpg, consistent at 8k miles. Califormia regular gas, foothill and flat driving conditions combined, light footed.

No mods and that was on 87 octane.

I drive 65 to 70 mph to work in DFW area. Currently, I only have less than 2400 miles on my Tremor. I Currently get 23/24 mph. I have also been tracking the mph over the entire life so far, and received 21.5 including the break in period.

I do notice that the truck's mph doesn't like speeds above 75. City street "stop and gos" also seems to have an impact as expected.

I have been very happy with the preformance of the truck. I didn't buy the Tremor version to beat people off the line, and drive with a smile every time since I got her.

I see!! Well, i get very low mpg in my Ranger. 17 to 19. 4x2 xlt. Now i see why! I drive70+ on expressways, and the other half is all stop and go traffic, then working with it, trailer, hauling so forth.
I see the light now.
I could never figure out what others where doing to get high mpg. I just figured,
Its a truck get over it.

Fuel mileage will vary from driver to driver based on commute and driving habits. My daily commute is 5 miles round trip to Starbucks to get coffee and a pup cup. I'll typically spend more time sitting in the drive through then the actual distance driven. I'm sitting at 18mpg on Trip1 which I'm more than happy about. My previous F150 I was sitting at just over 12mpg for city and just over 15mpg highway. I'm curious to see how the Ranger does on my next trip back up to Idaho in the spring.

I have a theory. Test with 87 and compare. The ECU adds power when it sees 91 or 93 this I am suspecting its using more fuel. But it just my thoughts
